SME Mrs. Moreno's class elections

Monday, Feb. 17th SME 2nd grade teacher Mrs. Moreno would like to wish her candidates the best of luck for their class elections. Mrs. Moreno's classes campaigned for President were tasked to present a speech and political platform for their grade-level and school.
This Social Studies activity served as an extension of the voting process and modeled campaign work of all of the candidates in the running elections.

Monday,Feb. 17th Coach Reyes started his PE classes at Seco Mines off with their daily walk/run.
Coach Reyes also informed his students about the advantages of a daily walk/run.
The Miners know that working out daily is better for their health, mood, and their everyday lifestyle.

The Nuff


On Friday February 21st, Mrs. Dobey's student Anahi from Kennedy Hall attended an event at the local H-E-B. H-E-B invited the community for the book reading of "The Nuff".

"Through this enduring, heartwarming story of unconditional love, hope, and perseverance, Veronica hoped to empower girls everywhere to be the bold and confident women they were created to be."

Gothic Movie Poster


On Feb. 21, 2020, WHS students in Mrs. Leija's English III class wrapped up their Gothic Literature lesson by engaging in an activity that demonstrated each student's artistic talent.

Students were tasked with designing an appealing movie poster that included a critic's review, movie rating, and famous actors of their choice to play the parts of the literary characters. In addition, students had to write a summary of the selection and present their final product to their classmates.

Students had a lot of fun working on this project and once again exceeded when presenting.
