Memorial Helps Find Memories

Memorial Junior High art students, along with their teachers Mr. Gerardo Lopez, Mr. Adrian Ordaz, and Diego Diaz, came together with non-profit organization "The Memory Project" to help bring smiles to strangers faces. The Memory Project is a non-profit organization that invites art teachers and their students to create portraits for youth around the world that have experienced substantial challenges, such as neglect, abuse, loss of a parent, violence, and extreme poverty. The project provided MJH with full-page color prints as well as digital copies of children from around the world. Memorial took these photos and turned them into large portraits for each child. Each child received more than one version of their original picture. The purpose of this is to make all the children feel valued and important.
We applaud Memorial for using their talents to help not just our community, but the world!
