Mavericks Unite at Convocation

A successful campus heavily relies on teamwork and solidarity amongst administration, faculty, and staff, as so; the 2018-2019 school year looks nothing but promising for C. C. Winn High.

As it is tradition, every start of the school year, Eagle Pass Independent School District brings a motivational speaker to convocation.
This year was no exception and the EPISD employees were treated with what many people have said to have been, by far, the BEST motivational speaker yet.

José Moreno Hernández, a Mexican-American engineer, former NASA astronaut and author of Reaching for the Stars: The Inspiring Story of a Migrant Farmworker Turned Astronaut, shared his inspiring story with EPISD employees.

After the convocation, a group of Winn teachers sat down and talked about Hernández’s story and further discussed how his story was like their own in many ways.
These teachers shared ideas with one another and vowed to become the type of teachers that their future astronauts need in order to become successful. This is the attitude that will make the C. C. Winn Mavericks successful, not only through this new school year, but also the bright future ahead of them.

Maverick teachers are destined to have a successful year and are ready to tackle this journey with nothing but positivity and unity.

Go Mavericks!
