WHS' Maverick Band Proudly Presents New Marimba

CC Winn Thundering Maverick Band recently purchased a new 5.0 Octave Marimba for the approaching audition at Medina Valley High School.
The new marimba was unveiled on September 17.
This new marimba is state of the art with rosewood keys and a sturdy frame from top name brand "Marimba One".
Marimbas that were used before this enormous upgrade weren't able to meet the criteria of the music.
Therefore, these instruments are an essential role for young musicians to have an opportunity and strive in their craft.
One member of the band who is excited about this new marimba is Senior, Julian Sanchez.
Julian was heard rehearsing on the new marimba on Friday, September 20, for upcoming All-Region audition in December.
As a junior, Sanchez earned himself 2nd chair against other competitors around the district and advanced to the Area audition in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Julian obtained 5th chair out of 8 other percussionists from around the area and missed being an All-State musician by 3 chairs.
Mr. Sanchez will definitely be coming around this year better and stronger for another shot at becoming an elite musician of the state. Good luck Maverick Band!
