Heights Elementary School students and families warmed up with a good
book on Thursday, January 21.
Families and
staff gathered to celebrate literacy with an evening of reading. Students, teachers, staff and community, joined together to celebrate literacy at its
finest.
Families
listened to a special read-aloud from special guest readers from our
neighboring High School C.C. Winn and people from our community. Guest
readers were: Matthew Uriegas (C.C. Winn Asst. Principal); Marilu Uriegas (C.C.
Winn College Advisor); Joe Cruz (Eagle Pass Historian/Downtown Manager); Walter
Galindo, Juana Rodriguez, and Irene Moreno (SWTJC Creative Writing Club); John
Byrne (EPHS Asst. Principal); Luis Sifuentes (City Councilman); Juan De Luna
(EPHS English Teacher); Olivia Garcia (EPHS Dean of Instruction) Pablo Garcia
(C.C. Winn Student Council Rep.) Hilda De Leon (UMC Physician Assistant); Rudy
Bowles (EP School Board Member); Eric Villasenor (C.C. Winn Head Football
Coach); and Jay Mendoza (C. C. Winn Asst. Principal).
