Winn Continues Earth Week Celebration

Wednesday, April 25th, C.C. Winn High School raised awareness about the dangers of Global Warming in continuation of Earth Week
The student body and staff wore RED to raise awareness of this serious social problem plaguing our Earth.
Global warming is an increase in the Earth's average atmospheric temperature that causes corresponding changes in climate and that may result from the greenhouse effect.
Although there are many critics that feel global warming does not exist, the recent weather changes in our hometown of Eagle Pass- snow in December-  should be proof enough that it DOES EXIST!
The following are tips to tackle Climate Change:
1. Learn about climate change science, impacts, and solutions.
2. Calculate your school's "carbon footprint."
3. Power down your classroom with WATT WATCHERS.
4. Become an ENERGY STAR school.
5. Reduce, reuse, and recycle.
6. Green your school grounds.

7. Reduce your school's transportation emissions.
8. Encourage your school to serve local foods.
9. Research and encourage your school to use alternative energy.
10. Explore green careers.
