Wednesday, October 17th,, Mrs. Diaz' English I classes at CC Winn discussed tone and mood.
They had the opportunity to learn and discuss how the tone of an author affects the mood of the reader. Furthermore, in order to allow them to enhance their vocabulary as well as their knowledge in the multiple types of tones, they were assigned a tone word that they needed to study in depth.
Students had to research the word, find the dictionary definition, simplify the definition into words that everyone could understand, find synonyms, and find a picture or make a drawing that depicted their tone word.
These Mavs worked diligently to ensure that they found the perfect words and images to help their peers learn a new term.
