EPISD Police Department Officer of the Week - Lead Officer Gume Guevara

EPISD Police Department is pleased to announce their Officer of the Week – EPISD PD Lead Officer Gume Guevara.

Gume Guevara began his career in law enforcement in 2001 after graduating the Middle Rio Grande Law Enforcement Academy in May. That same year he began work with Eagle Pass’ Police Department as a Telecommunications Operator and Reserve Officer. In July of 2002, Guevara was hired as a Peace Officer for the City of Eagle Pass and in 2013 he accepted a full time peace officer position with Eagle Pass ISD Police Department. Guevara holds certificates as a Master Peace Officer, SWAT Operator, Basic Instructor, Field Training Officer, and School Based Law Enforcement. He also regularly attends active shooter response trainings and once served as one of four K-9 handlers for the Eagle Pass Police Department. 
As a police officer for EPISD, Guevara has served the district and community in the following areas: Memorial Junior High School, D.A.E.P. and currently resides as the Lead Officer for the Eagle Pass High School.
