Graves Elementary and Pennies for Patients

Graves Elementary has been an active contributor to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society over the past years.  The funds raised by Graves students will be used by the Leukemia Society to complete research and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.  LLS goals include, curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma.  With this activity teachers at Graves Elementary take the opportunity to teach COMPASSION and CARING, which are major components of our character education program in our district.  This year, leading the "Pennies for Patients Drive" was 3rd grader Rodolfo Espinoza.  Rudy Espinoza was not only a big contributor, but also helped promote the penny drive throughout the campus and inform everyone of the importance of helping those in need.  The "Pennies of Patients" donation has been a success due to the teacher's and parent's support.  Graves Elementary is proud to announce the total donation to date is $7,423.34.
