EPISD
Teacher of the Year
Congratulations
to Mr. Ramiro Martinez, of Eagle Pass High School, for being designated the 2014
Eagle Pass Independent School District, “Teacher of the Year”.
This
past year the Eagle Pass Independent School District partnered with local
businesses throughout our city to highlight the “Teacher of the Month” program,
which honors educators who have made a difference in our community. The program
recognized outstanding kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school
teachers in Eagle Pass, Texas. A total
of eight teachers were awarded throughout the school year. On June 5, 2014 all eight teachers were recognized
at the annual end of school year assembly and all eight teachers received a
check in the amount of $500.00 from the Eagle Pass Independent School District.
“Teacher
of the Year”, Mr. Ramiro Martinez, was also recognized for his outstanding continuous
efforts within his classroom. Mr. Ramiro
Martinez was awarded a complimentary overnight reservation at the “Kickapoo Lucky
Eagle Casino & Hotel”, a complimentary dinner for four at “SAGE Steakhouse”
and two tickets to Schlitterbahn Waterpark in New Braunfels, Texas. Though the biggest surprise was when Mr.
Ramiro Martinez received a check in the amount of $1000.00 from the Eagle Pass Independent
School District.
As attested by his students, Mr. Ramiro
Martinez is a highly enthusiastic and motivated teacher who captures attention
and delivers excitement in his classroom while maintaining collegiate level
expectations from his students. The secret to his success is his creative
lesson presentations and his unwavering positive attitude that affects both students
and peers alike.
Mr. Ramiro Martinez is a true inspiration
to his students of Eagle Pass High School. He is a person of great
character, a strong leader and an outstanding teacher. It is for all
these reasons we are honored to designate Mr. Ramiro Martinez as the “Teacher
of the Year” for 2014.
