Hawks Receive Donation

Mr. Jimenez from Kennedy Hall would like to thank Mr. Armando and Lourdes Perez and Linda Perez from Perez Pool Service for donating to his classroom!

Mr. and Mrs. Perez treated the class to a Red Flyer Wagon to assist with transportation of students.

The Hawks are overwhelmed with these generous donations!

Thundering Maverick Band Named Band of Week

Congratulations to the C.C. Winn High School Band from Eagle Pass, Texas on being named the Bandtober Super Band of the Week for the weekend of September 17, 2021!

The Bandtober board has taken note of WHS' effort in dedicating their time to provide the joy of music to the Eagle Pass community despite the challenges that this Covid Era has brought us.

Particularly, the ability to carry out excellent rehearsals and sharing those moments on social media and local news networks.

Bandtober has recognized many great band programs across the great State of Texas and the C.C. Winn High School Band is no exception to this honorous tradition by becoming Bandtober Band of The Week!

Way to go Thundering Maverick Band! Your pursuit of excellence continues!

EPISD Transportation Department Trains to Ensure Safety

Recently, EPISD Transportation traveled to Hays CISD near Austin, Texas, for the Protektor Series, Wheelchair & Occupant Securement Boot Camp.

At this Training Boot Camp, EPISD trained with AMF Bruns’ recently launched automatic and self-tensioning Silver Series retractors.

The three-day training helped eliminate any doubts on how to properly secure a wheelchair on a school bus utilizing Protektor Series occupant restraints.

EPISD Transportation professionals were provided the tools to support and teach their teams proper safety techniques, which included hands-on training.

The key objectives of the training were:

Overview of equipment
Securing the wheelchair
Securing the occupant with a different variety of occupant securements
Understanding your vehicle floor anchorages
WC 18 and WC 19 and understanding the regulation; identifying a WC 19 wheelchair
Raising awareness about risks of not properly securing passengers
Deboarding passengers
Passenger sensitivity/etiquette
Certification
