Library to Living Room: I Went Walking

Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT)

Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) is a one-time food benefit for families who lost access to free or reduced-price meals due to school closures. Eligible P-EBT families will receive application instructions from schools in late May. The P-EBT application will open the first week of June. 
P-EBT food benefits are for children who received SNAP food benefits for March 2020 and children who are certified for free or reduced-price school meals during the 2019-20 Texas school year. For more information, visit: hhs.texas.gov/PEBT

Thursday, May 21st people all around the world are ringing in Red Nose Day! We could all use a little laughter right now – and many of us are also looking for ways to support those impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. While the impacts of COVID-19 affect everyone, children living in poverty are especially vulnerable.
That’s why EPISD is inviting you to join them in the virtual Red Nose Day Joke-Ha-Thon and Dance-Ha-Thon. Please share your best jokes and dance moves to raise awareness to support children who are living in poverty.

EPISD Concludes Food Allergy Week

EPISD concludes their 2nd Annual Food Allergy week virtual on Friday, May 15th by turning teal!
EPISD turned teal and pledged to be a PAL to all those with food allergies.
 Teal is the color for food allergy awareness and has been used to raise awareness about food-related medical conditions for 20 years.
Thank you to all those that participated this week and helped spread this message virtually!

Eagle Pass ISD would like to wish and hopes their amazing Police Department had a Happy Law Enforcement Appreciation Week.  


These officers are the front line of protection for our students and staff. 
They have been working tirelessly to ensure that safety is still at its utmost even though the campuses are empty.

The Mexican Consulate would like to announce a drawing contest for children ages 6-14, Children Drawing Contest 2020 “Alebrijes” Fantastic Figures Around the World. 
The deadline is June 29th!

Thursday, May 14th, EPISD continues to  celebrate their 2nd Annual Virtual Food Allergy Week!
Thursday – EpiPen Day! Two is Better Than One – Create a Tik Tok Duet

Pair up with a pal and twin to double your knowledge on food allergies.

It is important to remember that once a serious allergic reaction starts, the EpiPen is the only effective treatment.
As the EpiPen is key to saving lives, we are asking for everyone to know where to administer one.  
Introducing the concept at a young age is key.

EPISD Virtual Food Allergy Week

The EPISD Spirit Ambassadors invite all of EPISD to join them on their mission to raise food allergy awareness. 
May 11th – 15th, EPISD will celebrate Virtual Food Allergy Week; a week long celebration raising awareness over the dangers of food allergies and anaphylaxis. Please do your part and participate in this inspiring event!

WHS AFJROTC Unit TX-20122 Receives Distinguished Unit Award

CC Winn High School's Air Force JROTC Unit TX-20122 has been selected as one of the 387 units to receive the 2019 - 2020 Air Force JROTC Distinguished Unit Award for the 1st time in the history of the school's existence.
This award recognizes units that have performed well beyond normal expectations and that have disguinshed themselves through outstanding service to their community and school while meeting the Air Force JROTC citizen development award for America. 
Air Force JROTC is located at 900 high schools across the United States and at selected schools in Europe, in the Pacific, and in Puerto Rico. 
Air Force JROTC includes more than 120,000 cadets who do over 1.6 million hours of community service each year. 
WHS is proud to say that their unit with an average enrollment of 128 performed 1,311 hours of community service from September until March!
