Liberty Treated to Christmas Surprise

Friday, December 21st, Christmas came early at Liberty Elementary!
Courtesy of Liberty PTO, each student was treated to an awesome Liberty Eagle beanie and hoodie!
An added bonus PTO members Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Perez, and Mrs. Torralba were given a helping hand passing out the goodies by EPISD Police Department Assistant Chief Ynosencio, DARE Instructor Torralba, Officer Valdez, and Daren the DARE Lion.

WHS Concludes Holiday Week

Friday, December 21st, C. C. Winn Mavericks celebrated the last day of the first semester by wearing their Christmas morning pajamas!  
The students and staff enjoyed a cozy morning in their holiday slippers, long socks, and pj's for a short half day of school.  
What a great early dismissal day for all to enjoy, and a fun way to end 2018!

Roadrunners Take Act on the Road

Monday, December 17th, Rosita Valley Student Council spread some Christmas Spirit at a local nursing home, bringing some big smiles to our elderly. 
Roadrunner Nation is very proud of their Student Council for taking a few hours of their busy schedule to help the local community.
The girls sang holiday carols and visited with the members.
After the caroling, the Roadrunners were treated to fun and merriment at Desert Lanes Bowling Alley.

WHS StuCo Holiday Treat

C C Winn's Student Council was busy spreading Christmas cheer on Friday, December 21st. 
Students worked diligently to put together some Santa gifts for teachers.
The Mavs painted, cut, folded, and developed a gift that would bring joy to the teachers and show them how much they are appreciated! 
Thank you teachers for all you do! 
Student Council would love to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 

WHS Leads into Holiday Season

C. C. Winn High School Leadership class wanted a special way to show their appreciation for the lunch staff on campus.
Wednesday, December 19th, students in Mrs. Olivares-Wueste's 3rd period class personalized individual Christmas stockings for each lunch lady and brought in 2 dozen cookies each, to make a variety bag of treats for the women to enjoy.  
Student Council would like to thank the cafeteria staff for everything they do for the Maverick students and faculty and staff on a daily basis. 

Bulldogs Conclude 12 Days of Christmas

Friday, December 21st, Benavides Elementary concluded their annual "12 Days of Christmas" celebration.
The Bulldogs joined together to ring in Christmas the way it should be...full of spirit!
Day 12 the Bulldogs wore cozy pajamas to wrap up their holiday week.

Roadrunners Bike for Christmas

Wednesday, December 19th, two awesome students from Rosita Valley Elementary were presented with a very special gift! 
Courtesy of Brown Chevrolet, Power 92.7, Southern Justice, Rio Grande Electric Cooperative, MB Sales, El Latino, and Maverick Auto Glass bicycles were donated to the Roadrunners.
An added bonus came from EPISD Federal Programs and Mrs. Tracy Mynar, who donated presents for the students.

It was a great day in Mav Country and they would like to give Mrs. Tracy Mynar a very special thank you for all she does.

Thursday, December 20th, Rosita Valley staff gathered at school early to conclude their Christmas Breakfast week!
Until Friday, December 21st, the Roadrunners will be treated to a tasty breakfast courtesy of various groups of teachers and staff.
C-Wing treated the Roadrunners to a fun and festive Grinch-themed tamalada.
It was delicious!

Tigers Conclude 15 Days of Christmas

Friday, December 21st, Graves Elementary concluded their annual "15 Days of Christmas" celebration.
The Tigers joined together to ring in Christmas the way it should be...full of spirit!
Day 15 the Tigers wore their favorite scarves to wrap up their holiday extravaganza.

Darr Cheer Spreads Cheer

Wednesday, December 19th, Ray Darr Cheer spread some Christmas Spirit at a local nursing home, bringing some big smiles to our elderly.

Darr Bike Donation

Ray Darr would like to applaud Miss Eagle Pass Texas Teen, Izabella Roig for her generosity.
Friday, December 21st, Izabella Roig and Eagle Pass Pageant Products donated 12 bikes to Maverick students.
Christmas is a time of giving and spreading holiday cheer!
Darr thanks Izabella for always thinking of their students not just during the holidays, but year round.

Tigers Treated to Breakfast

Friday, December 21st, Graves staff gathered at school early to conclude their Christmas Breakfast week!
For six days, the Tigers were treated to a tasty breakfast courtesy of various groups of teachers and staff.
Team 6 treated the Tigers to tamales and desserts.
It was delicious!

Darr Holiday Give Away

Thursday, December 20th, Mrs. Rodriguez' class at Ray Darr were treated to a fun Christmas give away.
Mrs. Rodriguez and her Instructional Aide, Mr. J. Rodriguez have been awarding their students with tickets every time they work hard or for doing a good deed. 
Students were so excited and happy with the prize they each won!

Healthy Teeth at Darr

Thursday, December 20th, students from Ray Darr Elementary were presented with vital information and great tools for a healthy and happy smile.
Courtesy of Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center, toothbrushes and toothpaste was donated to the Mavs.
With all those tasty candy canes, the toothbrushes will definitely come in handy.

WHS Gives for Holidays


'Tis the season of giving and the students in Mrs. Mercer's English IV classes at CC Winn did just that. 
After a brief discussion on the importance of community service, students expressed a desire to collect toys in hopes of making children happy. 


An in-class toy drive was suggested and with great spirit, toys started to come in. 
Wednesday, December 19th, the toys were delivered to Sacred Heart Chuch. 


The collected toys will be wrapped and presented to multiple children as their Christmas gift. 
Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year and part of what makes it wonderful is the holiday spirit that is nurtured in us all. 


This experience was truly rewarding to the many students who chose to put a smile on children in our community and their kindness is truly commendable. 

Way to go, Mavericks! 

And the Darr Stockings Were Hung

Thursday December 20th, Darr Elementary Administration surprised the staff with beautiful handmade stockings to thank them for the hard work they’ve done this first semester.
The Mavs are ready to take on the second semester with as much power as possible.

Law Enforcement Agencies Gift Darr

Ray Darr Elementary would like to thank the various Law Enforcement Agencies in our community for putting a big smile on their students' faces for the holidays.
Thursday, December 20th, the agencies gifted the Mavs with great presents.
The presents were extra special as Maverick Claus passed them out to all the good boys and girls.

Darr Spreads Holiday Cheer

Thursday, December 20th, Ray Darr Administration was happy to spread holiday cheer with their cafeteria staff.
Ms. Chacon and Mr. Carrillo were all smiles when they gifted the Mav Cafeteria staff with small tokens of appreciation.
Darr appreciate everything they do to provide them with warm meals every day for breakfast and lunch.

Santa Claus Visits Tiger Country

Thursday, December 20th, several Graves Elementary students were treated to a wonderful Christmas surprise.
The Tigers were treated to a visit from Santa and he did not come empty handed!
Santa passed out wonderful goodies to the Tigers courtesy of his little elves on the Tiger staff.

Stallions Bowl Over UIL

Thursday, December 20th, Armando Cerna UIL Team was treated to a fun evening at Desert Lanes Bowling Alley to celebrate their 1st place win at the 42nd Annual EPISD Elementary UIL Meet.
Stallion administration and coordinators organized an evening at the bowling alley for their students to rejoice in their win. 
Coaches and students enjoyed some delicious pizza, refreshments, and games!

Christmas Comes Early to Stallion Country

Friday, December 21st, Christmas came early to the students at Armando Cerna courtesy of their great PTO.
The students would like to thank their PTO for such thoughtful gifts.
It was a beautiful gesture and the Chick-Fil-A gift and dessert cards are perfect for the holidays!

Eagle Nominated for Defensive Player of Year

Eagle Pass High School would like to congratulate Senior David Kypuros for being nominated for VYPE website's South Texas Defensive Player of the Year.
David is the 2018 - 2019 District 29-6A MVP and Captain of the Bi-Distirct EPHS Eagles Football Team.
David is also a member of EPISD Spirit Ambassadors and serves as a positive role model for the younger students in the district.
EPHS and EPISD is asking for everyone to rally together and vote for David as he is representing not only his campus, but the district as a whole.
Votes are unlimited and conclude at 5:00 on December 24th.

Darr Reaps Rewards

Thursday, December 20th, Mr. De Hoyos and Mrs. Castillon’s 6th grade classes at Ray Darr enjoyed some delicious pizza for their job well done. 
Mr. De Hoyos and Mrs. Castillon rewarded their classes for reaching the 600,000 points in Imagine Math. 
Awesome job boys and girls!

ACE Cheer Represents at Christmas Spectacular

Thursday, December 20th, Armando Cerna's Varisty and JV Cheer Teams proudly represented their school at the 5th Annual Silverline Christmas Spectacular at the Raul A. Gonzalez Fine Arts Center.
The Silverline Christmas Spectacular is a beautiful showcase for cheer and dance teams across the district.
The Stallions stunted and tumbled their way into the Christmas spirit.

Miner Christmas Crafts

Thursday, December 20th, Mrs. Macias' 3rd grade class at Seco Mines completed their Christmas gifts for their parents.
The Miners worked on stain glass paper plate words of art.
Using only a paper plate and crayons, the Miners created beautiful stain glass renditions of Christmas bells for their parents.

The staff exchanged gifts and enjoyed a delicious dinner this holiday season.

In appreciation for all he does for Winn High, on Thursday, December 20th, Maverick Nation's fearless leader was celebrated on his special day.

Roadrunner Parent Involvement

Thursday, December 20th, Rosita Valley Principal, Mrs. Guedea welcomed her 1st and 2nd grade parents to they Christmas Parental Involvement Meeting. 
Parents were given important information upcoming for the next semester.
They were even treated to Christmas songs performed by the students.
The Roadrunners prepped for a good while for this big day!

Bobcat Cheer Represents at Christmas on Main

Henry B. Gonzalez Cheerleaders participated in the City of Eagle Pass' 'Christmas on Main Street' on Thursday, December 20th.
The Bobcats entertained all with their high flying skills and a beautiful dance!

Roadrunner Reindeers

Thursday, December 20th, Mrs. Tellez' 1st grade class at Rosita Valley prepared Rudolph Candy Bags for their Christmas celebration.
Using paper bags, the Roadrunners created reindeer faces and Mrs. Tellez' helped them trace antlers.

WHS CPR Training


C. C. Winn Mid-Term Grads are ready to face the world as the complete their last requirements before graduation. 
THE week of December 17th-21st, students graduating in December received the newly state mandated CPR training. 
Different sessions were offered throughout the week. 

This training will better prepare the students as they venture off into the world. 

Magical Mustang Christmas

Thursday, December 20th, 2 students from Mancha Elementary were presented with a very special gift!

Thursday, December 20th, Mrs. Ibarra's 1st grade class at Graves Elementary ended their Christmas Around the World in the most timeless and classic way...sipping hot chocolate!
The Tigers drank delicious hot chocolate after reading & watching, "The Polar Express".
Christmas definitely came to town in Mrs. Ibarra's class!

Roadrunners Got Christmas in the Bag

Thursday, December 20th, Ms. Alba's 4th grade class was treated to a fun and festive project to wind down their 9 weeks.
Once the Roadrunners finished their 2nd 9 Weeks exams, they worked on their very own Christmas wreaths.
Using only sandwich bags, wire hangers, and ribbon, the Roadrunners created beautiful holiday decor for their homes.
