ECC Rings In 100th Day of School

On January 31st, Students and staff at ECC celebrated the 100th day of school with dancing and singing. 
Mr. Barrientos led students with 100 days songs followed by a parade where students got to show off their hard worked projects! 
The staff was impressed with the creativity and would like to thank all  parents for their continued support for their children! 



RVLA Celebrates 100 Days of School


Students at Rosita Valley Literacy Academy had a wonderful, fun filled day January 31st as they celebrated the 100th Day of School! 
This milestone was loaded with learning activities, counting, and demonstrating their knowledge of numbers and quantities of up to 100! 
RVLA'S 100 Days Celebration was a great success!



Winn Silverline Lends a Hand at MCJLS

Tuesday January 24th and Saturday January 28th, CC Winn Silverline Dance Team lent a helping hand at the Maverick Junior Livestock Show. The dancers welcomed everyone to the Cowboy Breakfast on Tuesday, helped in the concession stand and served the stock show buyers lunch on Saturday afternoon.
 The girls came out in full force to support their local community and fellow Mavericks showing in the show. They also want to congratulate their Christmas Spectacular Emcee, Maghan Trevino for being crowned Miss MCJLS.
The Silverline Dance Team can't wait to strap on their boots to help again next year!






Superintendent's Advisory Council Present at TASA

Monday January 30th, EPISD Seniors Angelica Garza (EPHS) and Magaly Hernandez (WINN) joined Eagle Pass Independent School District Superintendent Mr. Gilberto Gonzalez at the Texas Association of School Administrators Midwinter Conference in Austin, Texas. 
Not only were these girls the only students in attendance, these tenacious girls were the youngest presenters as well. The duo held their own breakout session at 1:00 pm over their journey on becoming student leaders with the Superintendent Advisory Council and how they are now creating leaders across the district with their "Go Green" initiative. Many school districts send in applications and bids to host their own sessions and out of the hundreds, our EPISD Superintendent's Advisory Council students were selected!

would like to congratulate these young ladies on this huge accomplishment and for all the time and energy that went into preparation for this event.

Kennedy Hall Wishes Principal Birthday Blessings

Tuesday January 31st, Kennedy Hall celebrated a very special day! The staff honored their fearless leader, Principal Mrs. Lisa Ruiz, with a surprise birthday get together. The staff brought a delicious cake and gift card for Mrs. Ruiz. It truly was a morning of birthday wishes and happiness.

Memorial Junior High One Act Play Brings Home a Win

Memorial Junior High traveled to Laredo January 28th for One Act Play contest and placed 1st! The amazing acting troupe were also recognized with 3 All-Star cast members, 5 Honorable Mention cast members, and Emily Hernandez was awarded Best Actress!

Sam Houston Elementary Recycles at MCJLS

Friday January 27th, students from Sam Houston Elementary spent their day at the Maverick County Junior Livestock Show educating everyone in the barn about recycling. The students brought recycle bins and helped with the maintenance of the barn and of the environment!

MJH Congratulates All Region Band Memembers

Memorial Jr High Band participated in the TMEA All Region Middle School Band Tryouts on Saturday, January 21.  Memorial junior high placed 44 students in the all region band. This is the highest number of students out of any school that participated! 
They also had six students make 1st chair!

Henry B. Gonzalez Rewards Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance

Henry B. Gonzalez Elementary congratulates 3rd grader Jazmin Galindo and 6th grader Krystal Sanchez for being the grand prize winners of the 2nd nine weeks raffle of a bicycle and a RCA Voyager Tablet. The Bobcats honored these two for Perfect Attendance and Honor Roll.

Kennedy Hall Celebrate Perfect Attendance

Kennedy Hall honored their tiny Falcons who had perfect attendance the entire 2nd Nine Weeks with fantastic ribbons and bumper stickers for their parents' cars!
The students wore the ribbons proudly all day!

MJH Future Engineers

Memorial Junior High Maverick Engineers in Mrs. Laurence's Science class came up with a creative solution to an everyday problem!  
Instead of having someone get up out their chair every time the lights needed to be turned on or off, they used a pulley system to build a switch that can be reached from the students sitting at a nearby table. 
 Way to use those STEM skills, girls!



EPHS Color Guard Bring Home 1st Place Honor

Eagle Pass High School Color Guard went to competed in New Braunfels, Tx at the TECA Sanctioned Competition held at Canyon High School on January 28th.
Several schools competed in EPHS' division, but ultimately they were no match for EPHS Color Guard. The troupe ended the competetion with being named the 1st place winners!
The entire Eagle Family is very proud of Ms Meza and her team for all their hard work and deserved win.

Seco Mines Elementary Participate at Annual Parent Conference

Seco Mines  Elementary would like to thank all the parents and staff that participated at the 26th Annual Parent Conference held on Saturday, January 21, 2017.  Seco Mines parents and staff enjoyed the entertainment provided by CC Winn Mariachi and the motivational speech from Jesse  Borrego, acclaimed Latino Actor.  Parents were able to take in a lot of information from the sessions on a wide range of programs and services offered in our school district.


Benavides Elementary is a Fairy Tale

January 26th, Miss Maldonado’s 1st Grade Class worked in their cooperative groups on different fairy tales. Their focus was locating the main idea and details of the fairy tales. They were able to create illustrations using the main idea and details that they gathered. 
Miss Maldonado’s Class did a wonderful job!





Henry B. Gonzalez Bobcats Entertain at Parent Meeting

Thursday January 26th, Henry B. Gonzalez held their 4th and 6th grade Title 1 parent meeting which resulted in a huge success!  Parents, teachers and students enjoyed a short play performed by the 6th grade classes and everyone in the room could not imagine being anywhere else.

Memorial Junior High Takes Washington!

Mr. Paul Pruitt, one of Memorial Junior High's Social Studies teachers, journeyed to Washington, D.C. with an eager group of Mavericks for the Presidential Inauguration. The students really enjoyed the trip and they represented their school and district with excellent behavior!

Border Patrol Visits Rosita Valley Elementary


Rosita Valley Elementary had quite a treat when Border Patrol came to their campus to show the students exactly what their job entails. The students were able to learn about the different jobs they do and hang out in a helicopter!
It was a fun and exciting experience for the Roadrunners! 



Pizza Party for Top Bulldog Readers

On January 20th Benavides Elementary celebrated their Top AR students. The Top AR Students for the 2nd 9 weeks were treated to a delicious pizza party and were awarded certificates for their great accomplishment.

EPHS Hosts Annual CTE Day

January 18th and 19th, Eagle Pass High School's Career and Technical Education Department hosted their annual Career and Technology Education Day. The event was hosted in the campus' girls' gym and welcomed 8th grade EPJ and Our Lady of Refuge students. CTE Day's purpose is to promote and make students aware of the variety of classes that CTE has to offer.
