On January 26, 2022, Ms. Garcia's 1st grade class at Henry B. Gonzalez proudly displayed their colored crown projects celebrating the 100 days of school and a mini pinata for studying the different cultures.

Stallions are Stampeding through Imagine Math Goals

Cerna's 3rd Grade Stallions in Mrs. Ramón’s class have done it again! 

They’ve reached their 3rd Classroom Goal on Imagine Math of 200,000 points! 

Their hard work rewarded them with a movie treat! 

Not only are they dominating in points, together they’ve passed over 1,700 lessons! 

Keep up the good work, and on to the next goal!

Top Imagine Math Top Stallions

Congratulations to Mrs. Ramón’s 3rd grade class who continue to maintain 1st place in most lessons passed in Imagine Math from Armando Cerna Elementary. 

These 3rd grade Stallions continue to work hard and excel in this math program. 

In addition, Ethan García is first in the entire school with 401 Passed Lessons and in 2nd is Regina Lopez with 328 passed lessons. 

Both students are from Mrs. Ramón’s class and have exited their grade level pathway four times! 

Their exceptional work and dedication does not go unnoticed! Mrs Ramon is beyond proud of her third grade class. Way to go Stallions!

Stallions Celebrate 100 Days of School

Mrs . Ramón’s 3rd grade class at Cerna celebrated 100 days of school on Tuesday, January 25th. 

Students wrote how they would spend $100 and why they would spend it in that matter. 

To finish off their fun writing assignment, they designed how their own personal $100 bill will look.

2nd Nine Weeks Perfect Attendance at HBG

On January 25, 2022 at Henry B. Gonzalez, Principal Ms. Garcia awarded the 1st - 6th grade students who had Perfect Attendance for the 2nd 9 Weeks with some prizes!

Darr Rings in 100 Days of School

Ray H. Darr Principal, Ms. V. Chacon, would like to recognize Miss Shari Cardenas, 1st grade teacher for having perfect attendance for the 100th day of school!

This takes hard work and commitment to her students.

Stallions Pucker Up for Piggy Grams

 The students of Armando Cerna Elementary challenged the Principal, Mrs. S. Lopez, to kiss a pig if they raised the most funds for the Maverick County Jr Livestock Show.

With a resounding donation of $1,010.00, the Stallions took the Champ Title in the Elementary Division! This meant that Principal Lopez got up close and personal with a pretty in pink pig on Monday, January 24th.

HBG Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance

Congratulations to Eli Garcia, 6th grade student for being the winner of a bicycle for the 2nd Nine weeks Perfect Attendance held on January 18, 2022 at Henry B. Gonzalez. 

Congratulations to 2nd grade Chanel Gomez for winning 2nd Nine weeks Honor Roll with a pair of some beautiful doll houses.

Pfizer Covid-19 Vaccine Administration at HBG

 On January 13, 2022 at Henry B. Gonzalez the staff from U.M.C. and Eagle Pass Fire Department came together to administer the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine for ages 5-11 years old. 

The clinic was a huge success. 

HBG students were brave and a good sport that they received a blow pop stating they are masked and vaccinated.

2022 MCJLS PIGGY GRAMS FINDS SUCCESS WITH EPISD

Congratulations to the Top Contributors to the Annual MCJLS Piggy Grams Fundraiser!

16 EPISD campuses and the District Service Center joined forces together to raise money for the 2022 MCJLS Exhibitors.
This year, over $10,000 was raised for these amazing students that raise animals all year.

Congratulations to Mrs. Norma Garcia: December Teacher of the Month

Eagle Pass Independent School District has partnered with local businesses throughout our city to highlight the Teacher of the Month program, which honors educators who have made a difference in our community.  The program recognizes outstanding kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school teachers in Eagle Pass, Texas.

December's Teacher of the Month is none other than Henry B. Gonzalez' Ms. Norma Garcia. Ms.Garcia is the true definition of a team player! Every single day, her 1st grade students grow academically as she enthusiastically taught the basics of reading, writing, and mathematics. Ms. Garcia is one of those teachers that not only earns the respect from her students, but also her peers. She is what you call a utility player as she is not only a 1st grade teacher, but also serves as a grade level chair, UIL Coach, and after-school tutor. 

Ms. Garcia is a successful and dedicated teacher, a sought after mentor, and a teacher that is loved equally by the staff and students. For all these reasons and more, Ms. Norma Garcia is Teacher of the Month. 

A segment will appear on iVision throughout the month of November detailing many more accomplishments of Ms. Garcia.  This month he will also appear on community media, news publications and the EPISD website throughout January 2022  A teacher will be selected each month through May 2022 for a total of eight (8) honorees.  The “Teacher of the Month” will be chosen based on educational achievements in the classroom, community contributions and innovative programs and techniques used by the teacher. The “Teacher of the Month” will receive a certificate of recognition and will be featured on iVision, local media news, news publications and radio broadcasting.  Additionally, each “Teacher of the Month” will receive donations from local businesses.

 

Each T.O.M is receiving a “V.I.T (Very Important Teacher) Parking Pass”, a jean voucher for a month, Chick-fil-A Gift Card, and Class Cash to purchase class room supplies. Additionally, each “Teacher of the Month” will receive donations from local businesses.  Thank You Border Federal Credit Union, Ashley Furniture, Liberty Barbecue, EPISD Spirit Ambassadors, and Peter Piper Pizza.

Eagle Pass Independent School District has partnered with local businesses throughout our city to highlight the Teacher of the Month program, which honors educators who have made a difference in our community.  The program recognizes outstanding kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school teachers in Eagle Pass, Texas.

Mrs. Juarez demonstrates the passion and enthusiasm that is needed to create connections in and out of the Science classroom. During her 13 years in education and time served as department head, Mrs. Juarez has elevated the standard for teaching practices and has inspired her colleagues to do the same. She created an environment for her students that promotes collaboration, inquiry-based learning, and independent thinking. Her students are constantly exposed to rigorous classroom activities and engaging learning opportunities.

Mrs. Juarez has been able to connect with the student body, not only through her classes but through extracurricular activities. Currently, she coaches the Eagle Pass Junior High Tennis team. She holds her team to the highest standards while exemplifying the same determination, passion, and perseverance in her professional life. As a colleague, Mrs. Juarez is always available to help other teachers in need. She shares her innovative ideas for lesson delivery and formative assessment and never shies away from experimenting with technology.

Mrs. Juarez' energy, positivity, and communication skills have helped build relationships across departments at EPJH. For all these reasons and more, Mrs. Gabriel Juarez is Teacher of the Month.

 On January 6, 2022 Henry B. Gonzalez celebrated Dia De Los Reyes with the students in which they received a gift that were donated by EPISD Police Department. Way to go Bobcats!
