MJH Prinicpal Tees Up

Thursday, April 26th, Coach Juan Tovar and his Memorial Junior High Golf students invited their Principal, Mr. Jose Hernandez out to tee off with them.
As their special guest, Mr. Hernandez was quite happy to see how skilled the athletes were and the students loved having their principal put a few rounds with them.

Bobcats Receive Top Honors

Henry B. Gonzalez would like to congratulate the 5th grade students who received an amazing 92% in Math and 71% in Reading.

Winn Cheer Announces Their 2018-2019 Cheer Squad

Friday, April 27th,  54 girls tried out for the C.C. Winn High School Cheer Team.
After a long week of tryouts and preparation, 26 girls were selected for the team. 
Sponsors Ms. Laura Castillon and Ms. Rocio Vargas went above and beyond to surprise the girls on Monday, April 30th with "A Welcome to the Winn Cheer" congratulatory gift.  
Ms. Castillon and Ms. Vargas would like to welcome the girls and wish them the best of luck this upcoming season. Both sponsors are looking forward to working with each and everyone of them next school year!

4th Grade Miner Named Scholar of the Month

Seco Mines Elementary would like to congratulate their very own 4th Miner, Nadiyah Ledesma, for being selected as April's Scholar of the Month.

Nadiyah was recognized for her efforts by EPISD, IBC Bank, and KEPS/KINL.

Bobcats Celebrate Dia del niño

Monday, April 30th, is Mexico's annual celebration of Dia del niño.
Día del niño, or the Day of the Child, has grown as an annual celebration throughout Mexico. 
This day recognizes children, pays homage to their importance in society, and endorses their well being.
Henry B. Gonzalez joined in on this festivity by having their 5th graders enjoy lunch outside and celebrate this day together!

Top Lobo AR Class

Pete Gallego Elementary would like to congratulate Mrs. Rodriguez' 5th grade class for reaching the outstanding goal of 1000 AR points!
The Lobos were able to complete this feat by reading multiple genres like adventure, fantasy, informational, history etc.

Miners Create Dream House

Monday April 30th, Seco Miners Elementary began looking towards the future!
Mrs. Valadez' 4th grade students had the opportunity to paint and write about their dream house.  
This was a great activity for the students to create their very own masterpiece!

With STAAR right around the corner, the 4th Graders at Henry B. Gonzalez are getting down to the very nitty gritty!
Monday, April 30th, the Bobcats began work on their last reviews over compare and contrast in order to excel on their Reading STAAR.

WHS Senior Named Miss Eagle Pass Texas 2018

C.C. Winn High School would like to congratulate Senior Maria Fernanda Aguado for winning the title of Miss Eagle Pass Texas 2018 on Saturday, April 28th! 
Maria is currently a member of the FFA and the reigning Miss MCJLS.

Eagle Baseball is Playoff Bound

Congratulations are in order for Eagle Pass High School's Varsity Eagle Baseball team as they enter into playoffs this season.
The boys will play in a 2 out of 3 series against La Joya High School.
The game will be at UISD SAC (5208 Santa Claudia Lane) in Laredo, Texas.

Tigers Solve for Success

Monday, April 30th, Ms. A. Perez' 4th graders at Graves Elementary got busy on their Math skills.
The Tigers worked on STAAR Math reviews in groups and had a great time learning from one another. 
It was a great way for the students to see new strategies and also a new way to approach problems!

Miners Scream for Ice Cream

Friday, April 19th and Friday, April 28th, Seco Mines PTO surprised their students with a tasty treat!
The Miners were gifted with delicious Ice Cream Pops for doing their very best on their STAAR and ITBS/Logramos Test.

Mustang Countdown Continues

The 6th graders at Perfecto Mancha Elementary have started their annual STAAR Countdown!
The students will be sharing a wonderful test taking tip each day until Test Day! 
Mancha Mustangs want all students across the district to be successful and Rock the STAAR!

Rebels Receive Tutorial Treat

Saturday, April 28th, Mrs. Recio and Ms. Cruz got together to provide their 4th grade students with a delicious McDonald's breakfast!
The students and teachers spent their Saturday in deep review for the upcoming STAAR!

Benavides 5th Grade Science Academy

Eagle Pass High School Science Department hosted the 5th Grade Science Academy for Benavides on Friday, April 19th.
The Eagles prepared different science stations at Benavides for the students that were designed toward the Science STAAR Test. 
Thank you to Mrs. Tijerina and the EPHS Students for doing a great job hosting the event!
The Bulldogs are truly appreciative of everything you have done to help them ensure success.

Graves Elementary and Pennies for Patients

Graves has wrapped up their penny donations for LLS “Pennies for Patients Program” on Monday April 30th.  
They were able to collect $1926.85.  
Student Council and their Sponsors, Susana Carrazco and Carol Romero, were in charge of cashing in the pennies at the local Coin Star machine.  
They did an amazing job motivating the students to help out those affected by leukemia.  
Under the direction of Counselor Ana Morales, the school has been able to reach a total of $10,203.01 during the past 6 six years.  
This year student Rudy Espinoza once again amazed the staff with his top donation of $389.59.  
Principal, Mrs. Soto Gonzalez, and IO Amado De La Cruz would like to thank the entire Tiger community for their support in this noble cause.

Darr Concludes Earth Week

Friday, April 27th, Ray Darr Elementary concluded their Earth Week festivities with a bang!
The student council members proudly celebrated Earth Week and planted a tree in observation of this event.

Bobcats Represent at Book Festival

Saturday, April 28th, Henry B. Gonzalez Student Council members participated at the Children & Book Festival hosted by Eagle Pass Public Library at the Plaza San Juan.  
The students brought to life different characters from various library books.  
There was lots of fun filled activities for the whole family.  
A special congratulations to all those boys and girls who won one of the 75 bicycles and prizes that were raffled.

Tigers Reach 2nd TTM Milestong

Monday, April 30th, Mrs. Trevino's 6th grade class Graves Elementary were rewarded for reaching their 2nd TTM goal of 600,000 points.
Mrs. Trevino rewarded her homeroom with cookies,donuts, and punch!
As an added bonus, they will be able to go to the local park for their success after STAAR!

Miners Win Big at Dia del Nino Event

Seco Mines Elementary would like to congratulate 4th grader, Nadiyah Ledesma, as the Eagle Pass Public Library Essay Contest winner!
This event was sponsored by the Consulate of Mexico, the City of Eagle Pass, Eagle Pass Public Library
and Parks and Recreation Department.  
Mayor Ramsey English Cantu presented Nadiyah with honorary award at the event on Saturday, April 28th.

The 5th grade students in Mr. Leos and Mrs. Melchor’s classes proudly celebrated Earth Week and planted trees around their campus!

Tigers Conclude Earth Week Activities

Friday, April 27th, Graves Elementary concluded their Earth Week festivities by wearing their school colors with pride.
Students and staff wore their spirit shirts to prove that "Together We Can Save the World"!
Mrs. Ibarra's class also presented their amazing recycled good projects.

Lady Eagle Softball Continues Playoff Journey

Congratulations are in order for Eagle Pass High School's Lady Eagle Softball team as they enter into the second round of playoffs this season.
The Bi-District Champions will play in a 2 out of 3 series against Edinburg High School.
The game will be at Zachry Field (3200 Chacota Street) in Laredo, Texas.

LDC Dazzles at Dance Competition

Saturday, April 28th, the LDC Dance Team competed at MCDA Cheer and Dance Championships held at Sea World.
The girls dazzled on stage and left everyone wanting more.
LDC would like to congratulate their dancers on a great season!

Top Tiger AR Class

Friday, April 27th, Ms. K. Martinez & her 4th graders at Graves Elementary were pronounced AR royalty! 
The 4th grade Tigers earned 524 points in the Accelerated Reading Program at school & were named as Top AR class based on their points! 
They were even awarded with a very special trophy for this feat.
Ms. Martinez has a reward program that motivates her students to read and test on a daily basis making this remarkable 524 points possible. 

The Tigers can't wait for A.R. store to open, so they can cash in on some amazing prizes!

Pete Gallego Hosts Fun Filled Field Day

Friday, April 27th, Pete Gallego Elementary hosted their annual Field Day. 
The day was filled with great activities and there were even some junior high volunteers to help with all the contests.
The Lobos has a blast and it all culminated in a no holds barred tug-of-war showdown!

Bobcat Cheer Ends On Top

Henry B. Gonzalez would like to congratulate their very Bobcat Cheer Team for their remarkable showing at the MCDA Cheer and Dance Competition at Sea World on Saturday, April 28th.
The girls have worked all year long and it was a great way to end their season with an awesome 2nd place.

EPHS Science Preps Tigers

Friday, April 27th, Ms. Tijerina and her Physics students from Eagle Pass High School hosted a 5th grade Science Review for Graves Elementary. 
The Eagles had a variety of hands on activities that were focused on the 5th grade science TEKS. 
Graves would like to thank Ms. Tijerina and her students for all their help prepping the 5th graders for their upcoming STAAR exam!
