One way that states, like Texas,
help families save money during back to school shopping is to offer sales tax
holidays. This "holiday" helps many of our EPISD families save
on things they need for their kids heading back to school. Supplies,
clothes, and even electronics are just a few examples of items that are up
for grabs.
This year’s
Sales Tax Holiday is Aug. 7 - 9. As in previous years, the law exempts most
clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under $100 from sales
and use taxes, which could save shoppers about $8 on every $100 they spend.
