The
list is based on several components, including the performance and success of
all students, not just those that are college bound. Key components
include, measurable academic outcomes that showcase the success in educating
its student body across a range of performance indicators, and the degree to
which high schools prepare students for college by offering a college‐level
curriculum.
Eagle
Pass High School was awarded a National Silver Medal, and was ranked # 201 in
the state and # 2,251 in the entire nation.
“This is
an awesome achievement and it wouldn’t have been possible without the continued
commitment of our students, parents, teachers, staff, and school and district
administration,” Eagle Pass High School Principal, Vale Moreno said. “Our
mission is to promote academic excellence for our students, this ranking is one
example of how this mission is being fulfilled daily at EPHS.,” said Moreno.
EPISD Superintendent
Gilberto Gonzalez added, “What an honor for Eagle Pass High School to earn this
recognition. We have dedicated teachers and students who are making
great things happen at all of our schools within the district. This
recognition serves as a true testament to that.”
