Hispanic Heritage Foundation Honors Mavericks

A hearty congratulations goes out to Lorena Aldape and Diego Jimenez for being the recipients of the 2017 Hispanic Heritage Youth Award!
These two C.C. Winn Seniors were among the selected few that received this honor, which recognizes outstanding students who excel in the classroom and in our community.
The Hispanic Heritage Foundation received close to 10,000 applications this year and after a rigorous selection process, Diego Jimenez and Lorena Aldape were chosen to win an award in distinct categories and regions.
Diego Jimenez received the Youth Award in the Business and Entrepreneurship, which was generously sponsored by BBVA Compass Bank, in the Dallas region at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Lorena Aldape received the Youth Award in the Technology, which was sponsored by Google, in the Houston region at Rice University.
Both these individuals have the opportunity to be selected within their category, which is only three individuals per category, to attend the National Hispanic Youth Awards!
Along with this recognition and a graduation medallion, these two students were given a $1000 dollar educational grant.
Congratulations once again to Diego Jimenez and Lorena Aldape!
C.C. Winn is proud of you two!
