Mavericks are State Bound

April 13th - 14th, C.C. Winn's UIL Academic team traveled to UTSA for their Regional Competition. 

This year a record breaking 31 students advanced to Regionals. 

WHS UIL Academic coaching staff is extremely proud of all the students' hard work and dedication. They are excited to report the following results:

·         Samantha Cardenas- 6^th Place in Prose and Poetry- Coach Mr. Adolfo Flores

And Advancing to STATE on May 4-5 at the University of Texas at Austin:

·         Hugo Tavares-Venegas- 3^rd Place in Computer Applications- Coach Mr. Jesus L. Diaz

·         Abraham Sanchez- 1^st Place in Feature Writing-Coach Mrs. Monica Diaz

Once again, congratulations to these individuals and the entire 2017-2018 UIL Academic Team for an amazing UIL season!
