Monday, December 4th, Mrs. Torres' English I classes at CC Winn worked on analysis of persuasive text.
After working with the devices found in the persuasive text from the previous day, students were ready to tackle another important aspect of text analysis: deconstructing the text to identify the writer's claim, purpose, main ideas and supporting details.
After modeling a reading and completing an analysis using a persuasion chart, Mrs. Torres had students read, deconstruct and analyze a persuasive passage with a partner.
Students were able to work effectively and complete their assignment, leaving class with the knowledge needed to analyze future persuasive readings.
