Ms. Cruz’ English II Pre-AP classes at CC Wiin are wrapping up their semester by researching important topics from William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Julius Caesar.
Students are researching various topics that include the historical background of Julius Caesar and changes made in the play, Roman stoicism and its influence on characters in the play, and the role of omens, superstition, and fate in the play.
As of December 13th, students have five and a half school days left in the course and are closing off performing research, to try to solve a mystery—they want to know why something happened or what influenced it. In other words, they want to answer a question that they (and other people) have about the world of Shakespearean literature.
This is one of the most basic reasons for performing research and closing of the course with a research paper.
Thanks to Chromebooks readily available for students through the English Department, students have been gathering data from databases provided by EPISD.
Students are eager to share their findings next week.
