WHS Stirs Up Food for Thought

C. C. Winn High School students enrolled in Ms. Tan’s class learn a lot more than cooking skills.
Everyone knows that after a delicious Thanksgiving feast leftovers sometimes go to waste.

There are parts of the turkey that are not too popular on this celebratory day.

Knowing this, and with the purpose of teaching her students all about home economics, Ms. Tan created a lesson that taught the students how to make use of the turkey’s neck.
Friday, November 30th, the students put this knowledge to the test and took it to the kitchen.

Following Ms. Tan’s instructions, they added flavor to the turkey parts before they put them in the oven.

The outcome, to the surprise of the students, was a delicious, flavorful meal.
Way to go, Ms. Tan! Keep up the good work.
