Tuesday, December 18th, Mr. Vela’s Spanish II classes at C. C. Winn High School presented their projects on the different traditions from the Spanish speaking countries.
As part of the project, students were asked to discuss interesting facts about each of their assigned cultures and share information on how each group of people celebrate Christmas.
The students had to also research traditional dishes from their assigned Spanish speaking country, prepare them, and share the meal with their classmates.
Plates like the famous Venezuelan arepas, Mexican mole, Spanish churros with chocolate, and the Cuban sandwich were enjoyed by the Maverick Spanish classes in a true Christmas feast!
This project was a great way for the Mavs to experience a little of the culturally diverse holiday festivities there are in the world!
