WHS English III students in Mrs. Leija's class hopped on a time machine and explored life in the town of Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. As students actively read, they explored various themes, engaged in worthy discussions and closely analyzed the elements of drama.
In addition, students learned about the similarities between The Crucible and McCarthyism, a historical period of false allegations and investigations in the United States during the late 1950s.
To conclude the drama unit, students were tasked to create a reading analysis power-point on assigned scene to present to their peers and re-create a visual that best represented The Crucible.
Students did outstanding!
