February's Teacher of the Month is none other than Ray H. Darr Elementary School's, Mrs. Adriana Vargas. Mrs. Vargas is a true and natural leader in grade level, campus, and district. She has been grade level chari for over 5 years and she is also a successful UIL Coach, who regularly places. She also has spent many years as Darr's dedicated Student Council Sponsor and even amongst all these responsibilites, she finds time to mentor other teachers and serve ast TCTA Representative. Mrs. Vargas works closely with the district's Math Department Director.
Mrs. Vargas is the type of teacher who takes the "no excuses" apporach with her students; she expects nothing but the very best! She sets high expectations as this is evident in her repeated high scores. Mrs. Vargas' 5th grade Math STAAR scores are always above 90% and last school year, she scored 100%. Her continued success is a direct result of her hard work. This hard working ethic is instilled in her students. The have access to her early in the morning, during PE, and after school. Mrs. Vargas' open door policy leaves no room for failure.
Mrs. Vargs will continue to bring success to her students as she serves as at real inspiration for all educators and studnets alike. Her efforts do not go unnoticed and for all these reasons and more, Mrs. Vargas is Teacher of the Month.
