2023 Graduation Tips & Procedures
EPISD SAC
gates will open at 6:00 p.m. and the ceremony will begin promptly at 8:00 p.m.
With nearly 500 seniors graduating from both high schools, traffic can be
overwhelming which is why we highly recommend for families and graduates to car
pool. We also suggest that guests use the alternative route to the Student
Activities Center.
Taking Loop
480 to 277 will help divide the traffic in front of the Student Activity Center
and aid the process of allowing vehicles to enter and exit the parking lot.
TIP 2:
Dress Code! All
students participating in the graduation ceremonies must be compliant with
school dress code policy. Any student not in compliance will not be allowed to
participate. This includes no markings, messages, or labels on the cap or the
gown. And finally, high heels are absolutely not allowed on the field! Girls
may only wear flat-footed shoes.
Certain items are not allowed on the field! The graduate
cannot bring backpacks, purses, sacks or bags of any kind. Foreign objects such
as beach balls, balloons, air horns, fireworks, etc. are not allowed. If you
are caught with a controlled substance or under the influence, you will be removed!
Also, for guests, only clear bags will be allowed in the stadium. If you bring
a bag that is not clear you will be turned away and asked to leave your
belongings in your vehicle before entering. And finally, ICE CHESTS ARE NOT
ALLOWED on the premises!
Tip 4:
All students must
line up on the field already in cap and gown for procession. Every student is
expected to behave appropriately and act respectfully towards all the people
there to honor them. If behavior becomes an issue the student will be dismissed
from the ceremony and they will have to pick up their diploma on the next
business day at their home campus.
Tip 5:
This year, photos taken of the graduate receiving their diploma will be free to download off the district’s website. You will go to https://episd.smugmug.com/ and then click on either the EPHS Graduation or WHS Graduation album. Once you click on the album, you will be able to scroll and look through all the photos that were taken at graduation. When you find the photo(s) you would like to download, you will click on it and then click the download icon to receive your free photo(s).
Tip 6:
The last bit of
information is in case of inclement of weather. If there is rain on graduation
day, Winn’s ceremony will be moved to 10:00 am Saturday, May 27th and Eagle Pass High
School’s would be moved to Sunday May 28th. So, if it is raining the
day of your assigned graduation please tune into your local radio station,
check all EPISD social media pages, and/or call your campus to receive further
details. If rain continues on your reassigned Graduation date, the ceremony will be canceled and you can pick up your diploma on the next business day at your home campus.
Graduation is an
important time in all of our lives and if we follow these tips and procedures,
the Class of 2023’s graduation will be one for the record books.
