October is National Bullying Prevention Month

 October is National Bullying Prevention Month.

A month long event to prevent childhood bullying and promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
It serves as a a timely reminder for organizations to take action at the local level to foster safe and supportive environments.
EPISD Spirit Ambassador, Abigail De Luna, passed out stickers and had students and staff members alike promise to say "Boo to Bullying!"

MUSTANGS RING IN HOLIDAY SEASON WITH OFRENDAS

Ms.Kypuros' 6th grade class at Perfecto Mancha created the most amazing Día de Muertos Ofrenda Projects. 

It was a sight for all Mustangs to see as the 6th graders shared thier most  treasured memories.

Students learned that through this tradition, we honor and keep alive the memory of our loved ones. 

Thank you for sharing with us Mustangs!

They were beautiful!

WHS SENIOR EARNS HIGHEST BSA HONOR

 Congratulations to CCWHS Senior Jeremiah J. Jimenez who has earned the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America—the Eagle Scout rank. 

Only about 5% of Boy Scouts achieve this rank, and Jeremiah is the first of Troop 288 to do so. 

Jeremiah is a member of the CCWHS National Honor Society and is also a Drum Major for the Thundering Maverick Band!

WHS STUDENT WINS CONSULATE CONTEST

CC Winn High School would like to congratulate Mr. Gonzalez' Media Tech student, Yajaira Solis, for placing 2nd place in "Soy Parte De La Tradicion" video contest hosted by The Consulate of Mexico in Eagle Pass. 

The video will be showcased Saturday October 26, 2024 at the Day of the Dead Celebration at the Ruins of Fort Duncan.

October is Dyslexia Awareness Month

 October is Dyslexia Awareness Month. 

This creates an opportunity to shed light on the most common learning disability in the United States, one that affects millions of Americans every day. 

Dyslexia is not a measure of intelligence, but a unique way of how the brain processes language which ultimately presents challenges in reading and writing.
EPISD Spirit Ambassadors, Uziel Mauricio and Deniza Cedillo, passed out red ribbons to raise awareness and advocate for the proper tools and resources needed to help those with dyslexia!

The CC Winn High School Interact Club- Keeping Busy for The Month of October




   The CC Winn Interact Club have been working hard during this month of October. The group has teamed up with the school’s National Honor Society; together the two groups are collecting caps to fill the heart at Fort Duncan Park. This endeavor helps a child in Mexico with Cancer. 

   The Club is getting ready to work with their parent club-The Eagle Pass Rotary at their annual Golf tournament on October 19th. The group is currently raising funds to attend The Interact National Convention on November 9th, that will be held in San Antonio, Texas. They will be having a pulled-pork sandwich sale on October 23rd and selling Halloween grams for October31st. 

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month

 October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month. 

This is a time to raise awareness and celebrate people with Down syndrome.

People all around the world join together to speak up. They want everyone with Down Syndrome to be included and celebrated!

EPISD Spirit Ambassadors, Diego Sifuentes and Kimarie Gonzalez, passed out goldfish to show that we are all more alike than different!
