EAGLE PASS FFA WINS BIG AT STATE
Eagle Pass FFA would like to congratulate the Chapter Conducting Team for competing and advancing to the state Finals. They placed 6th in the state out of over 250 teams across the state. Chapter Conducting consists of the students learning, memorizing, and performing parliamentary procedure, as in Robert’s Rules of Order. They then have to conduct a fake meeting where they apply these skills by figuring out a problem that is given to them. This is an extremely brain challenging competition that requires these students to study and to think on their feet, and put in month’s of practice.

Eagle Pass FFA Leadership Development Events Fall 2024 Results
This November, Eagle Pass FFA students from EPHS and CC Winn HS competed in the Leadership development events at the district, area, and state level. At each level, only the 1st and 2nd place advance to the next level. Eagle Pass FFA is proud to announce the following teams that competed at the district level:
Senior Chapter Conducting. In this contest teams conduct a mock chapter meeting to demonstrate knowledge of basic parliamentary law and the use of correct parliamentary procedures. This team placed 6th at State!
Team members were: Trevor Rodriguez, Tyler Rodriguez, Jesus Adan, Sophia Rodriguez, Marichel Hernandez, Alina Aza, Rylee Gloria, Gretchen De Luna, Mariangela Robles, and Leah Hinojosa
Agriculture Advocacy. This contest is designed to inform the general public and consumers about the importance of the agriculture industry and how agriculture impacts human lives. Placed 1st at District and 6th at Area.
Team members were: Barbara Garcia Villarreal, Evan Longoria, Emma Salinas, Areli Hernandez, & Jennifer Salazar
Quiz. In this contest students take an exam testing knowledge of Parliamentary Procedure and FFA Knowledge including history, facts, business structure, leadership and programs. The Senior level competition tests the team members' understanding of the FFA, Agriculture education, Current events, and parliamentary procedure.
The Freshmen’s team placed 8th at District, consisting of Omar Rosas, Danna Ortiz, Mariam Salinas, & Alizee Ochoa.
The Senior’s team placed 3rd at District, consisting of Marichel Hernandez, Rylee Gloria, Alina Aza, & Gretchen De Luna.
Agriculture Issues forum. In this contest students research and analyze a current agriculture issue, create a portfolio and also develop and deliver a presentation that stresses both pros and cons of their selected issue. Placed 1st at District and 6th at area.
Team members were: Braxton Blanchard, Juan Ballesteros, Luis Lopez, Andrez Fraire, Diana Briseno, Carolina Ortiz, Fernanda Mercado
Agriculture Skills Demonstration. In this contest members perform an actual demonstration of an agricultural skill including anything in the Agricultural Science and Technology Curriculum using effective public speaking and communication methods. The topic for this team was Artificial Insemination of Cattle.
Freshmen Team members were: Danna Ortiz, Ivanna Tovar, Ivanna De Luna, Omar Rosas, & Adriana Enriquez. They placed 1st at District and 7th at Area.
Senior Team members were: Jacqueline Ramirez, Carlos Villarreal, Jesus Soto, Jesus Tovar, & Adrian Rocha. They placed 3rd at District.
Public Relations. In this contest a team of 4 FFA members develops and presents a 5-8 minute program to inform a specified target audience regarding the Texas FFA and what it represents. Placed 1st at District and 8th at area.
Team members were: Mayte Martinez, Alizee Ochoa, Zamara Ochoa Cardenas, Aubrey Schweitzer
FFA Broadcasting. In this contest a team of 3 members presents an informative radio program covering 1 or more agricultural subjects that is current in nature and local in content.
The team placed 6th and consisted of Sierah Flores, Caitlyn Cardenas, Desirae Herrera, Oscar Flores, Emily Benavides, & Connie Benavides
Creed speaking. In this contest a member presents the FFA creed from memory and answers questions about its meaning and purpose.
Greenhand was Ivanna Tovar.
Chapter participants were Areli Hernandez & Emily Benavides.
Spanish Creed speaking. In this contest a member presents the FFA creed from memory in Spanish and answers questions about its meaning and purpose in Spanish.
Greenhand was Ivanna De Luna.
Chapter was Jacqueline Ramirez
Job Interview. At this competition, each member submits their resume, completes a job application for an agricultural position on site and participates in an interview via telephone, in person one-on-one and with a panel of possible employers.
Competing in this was Ivan Roque, placing 4th at District.
