Bulldogs Find Inner Rainbow

Thursday, September 27th, the 4th grade students in Mrs. Gomez' class had their weekly library visit.

While in the library, the students were treated to a "Rainbow Fish" arts and crafts activity.

"Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister is best known for its morals about the value of being an individual and for the distinctive shiny foil scales of Rainbow Fish.

While reading their own library books, the students were tasked with creating their very own Rainbow Fish complete with original scales.

Wednesday, September 26th, the students in Ms. Flores' 3rd grade class at Benavides worked diligently on building their understanding of land and water forms.

The students worked in group to label and identify the different forms and color code their findings.

WHS T's Up

Wednesday, September 26th, Mrs. Martinez' Accounting class at CC Winn analyzed accounting transactions using T-charts to differentiate debit and credits. 

The students worked in groups as they followed the rules of debits and credits to find the balances of all the accounts in their businesses.

Happy Johnny Appleseed Day

Wednesday, September 26th, the students at Kennedy Hall celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day!

Johnny Appleseed is the mythical man that spent his time spreading apple seeds around America, thus gifting us with delicious apples!

The Hawks celebrated the day by reading Johnny Appleseed's tale and of course, eating delicious apples.

They also created their very own Johnny Appleseed inspired hats and drawings.

Falcons Kickoff Football Season

The Glass Falcon Division II Football team was ready for battle and kicked off their season with EP Parks and Rec on Wednesday, September 26th.

The Falcons are proud to announce that their boys brought home their first win and would like to wish them a great rest of the season!

Bobcats Found Something to Sing About

Wednesday, September 26th, the students in Mrs. Apolinar's 3rd grade morning and afternoon math classes at Henry B. Gonzalez learned about polygons and their attributes. 

A regular polygon has equal length sides with equal angles between each side. 

Any other polygon is an irregular polygon, which by definition has unequal length sides and unequal angles between sides.

They learned a song about polygons and worked on an activity to reinforce what they learned. 

They loved to sing the song!

Bulldogs Figure Out Adjectives

Wednesday, September 26th, the students in Mrs. Castillo's 1st grade class at Benavides furthered their study on adjectives.

An adjective is a word or phrase naming an attribute, added to or grammatically related to a noun to modify or describe it.

The students chose one noun and then were tasked with describing it with several adjectives.
