On February 26 through the 28
Francisco Becerril, Norberto Barragan, Joaquin J. Contreras and Jose D. Noriega
traveled to Laredo, Texas and competed in Texas A&M International
University Robotics Competition. They competed amongst a large pool of Gear Up
students from all over south Texas including Early College and La Hoya High
School. These students showed the true excellence C.C. Winn students have to
offer by being awarded Best Design for this year’s objective which was to
rescue a man from Mars. They also received a Congressional Certificate of
Recognition from U.S Representative for Texas's 28th congressional district, Henry
Cuellar.
These students will travel to Dallas
to tour the stomping grounds of Texas Instruments. They will get a full tour so
students are aware of the different areas Texas Instruments works with in the
hopes that they would soon intern and become the future of the STEM community.
