WHS Forensic Science Jumps into Research

It is never too early to introduce research in the classroom.
This semester, Mrs. Duran's 5th period Forensic Science class at CC Winn jumped right into it.
Friday, January 18th, the students conducted a mini research project.
Students were given the task to choose a career related to forensic science to investigate.
Students looked up information on career background, education path, special skills and training requirements, salaries, what a regular day is like in the life of their chosen profession, as well as colleges in and out of state that offer these programs.
Some chosen professions were: homicide detectives, criminal lawyers, EMT/paramedics, computer crimes investigator, and forensic pathologists.
Far from feeling tedious, the task sparked the students' interest. Like every single one of Mrs. Duran's activities, the outcome of this research project was a total success.

Mrs. Duran looks forward to working with these new students as she knows there is a lot of fun learning and great projects coming up.
