The WHS students took a pop quiz before the lab and gathered their safety equipment to prevent injuries from glassware.
To accomplish the objective the students had to use equipment such as: goggle, apron, ring stand, crucible, clay triangle, bunsen burner, ring, crucible tongs, small drop of water, lab balance, and watch glass.
The process of the lab consists of heating the copper (II) sulfate in the crucible and weighing after the water has been evaporated.
After recording the final mass of the anhydrous salt, the students had to do calculations to show molar ratio of water to anhydrous salt really is a 5:1 ratio.
After they had to repeat the steps with the magnesium sulfate.
Great Job Mavericks!
