On January 31st, as a reward for completing their Cougar Chain Challenge, students at Sam Houston Elementary were allowed to watch a movie at the end of the school day as a reward. Students in Mrs. Torres' class had spent time during the week learning about famous football players and athletes. In honor of this, Mrs. Torres showed 'The Blind Side" and had students hold a discussion afterward of what qualities they thought Michael Oher had that helped him become successful and beat all the odds. Students even read some of Michael Oher's biography and book. It was a great way to have fun while learning. Go Sam Houston Elm. Cougars!
