On February 13, 2020; Eagle Pass High School students enrolled in Mrs. De Luna's AP Chemistry class learned about solutions: Unsaturated, saturated and supersaturated. They made a supersaturated solution by dissolving borax (solute) in water (solvent). They then shaped a pipe cleaner and attached it to a popsicle stick to suspend it in the solution in a styrofoam cup. When the borax solution cooled down, it will crystalize and the crystals will attach to the pipe cleaner shape the students created.
