Who says Valentine's is just about love?
On Thursday, February 13, and Friday, February 14, students in Mrs. Mercer's English 1302 class at Winn High let the love and appreciation show.
Students conducted a mini song analysis where they were tasked to demonstrate their understanding of the lyrics by applying them in a woven essay.
Students selected a classmate to write a friendship essay about them using the lyrics to three songs. As an additional token of appreciation, students created a Valentine's Day card for their classmate.
Students shared their essays with the class and presented each other with their cards and an added Valentine treat.
The touching essays brought tears of appreciation to one another and filled the room with nervous giggles and sighs of appreciation.
