Eagle
Pass Independent School District has partnered with local businesses throughout
our city to highlight the Teacher of the Month program, which honors educators
who have made a difference in our community. The program recognizes
outstanding kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school teachers in
Eagle Pass, Texas.
March's Teacher of the Month is none
other than CC Winn High School's, Mrs. Angelica Camarillo. Mrs. Camarillo is
not only the English Department Head at her campus, but she also serves as a
teacher, guide, motivator, and friend to all those around her! She is that
special type of teacher that plants seeds of knowledge and passion that
are used to cultivate a love of the written word.
Mrs. Camarillo's mission is to cultivate
life-long learners and challenge each and every one of her students to reach
their full potential. She designs lessons that nurture a learning community and
allow each student to become a LEADER! Her dedication cannot be measured.
As Department Head, she motivates
teachers to volunteer their time to ensure each student's success; in addition,
she organizes scholarships to award both Winn and EPHS seniors on behalf of the
English Department. There is not something Mrs. Camarillo will not do to help
her students or any staff member. She has dedicated 24 years of her life to her
profession and prides herself on creating productive and successful
citizens. For all these reasons and more, Mrs. Angelica Camarillo is
Teacher of the Month.
A segment will appear
on iVision throughout the month of June detailing many more
accomplishments of Mrs. Camarillo. This month she will also appear on
community media, news publications and the EPISD website throughout
March 2021. A teacher will be selected each month through May 2021
for a total of eight (8) honorees. The “Teacher of the Month” will
be chosen based on educational achievements in the classroom, community
contributions and innovative programs and techniques used by the teacher. The
“Teacher of the Month” will receive a certificate of recognition and will be
featured on iVision, local media news, news publications and radio
broadcasting. Additionally, each “Teacher of the Month” will receive
donations from local businesses.
Each T.O.M is
receiving a “V.I.T (Very Important Teacher) Parking Pass”, a jean voucher for a
month, Whataburger Gift Card, and Class Cash to purchase class room supplies.
Additionally, each “Teacher of the Month” will receive donations from local
businesses. Thank You Border Federal Credit Union, Ashley Furniture,
