WEEK 1- EPISD G/T Science & Technology Summer Program

EPISD's G/T Science & Technology Summer Program kicked off on July 16th at Graves Elementary. The 15-day summer program offers enrichment opportunities in the areas of science and technology for the district's gifted and talented elementary students.

3rd Grade: "Shine Bright Like A Penny"
Students explored why pennies don't stay shiny and test different methods to bring the shine back!

4th Grade: "Father's Day Tool Box"
Students built a craft toolbox and filled it with memories for Father's Day.

5th Grade: "Catapult Challenge"
Exploring physics has never been so exciting for kids because everyone loves to launch stuff in the air! This STEM activity incorporates easy math connections, engineering design processes, student-driven learning, and hands-on fun!

6th Grade: "Drone Coding & Flight School"
Students used the Tyner app to code a box flight for their drones. While coding with Tynker, kids apply critical thinking, pattern recognition, focus, problem-solving, debugging, resilience, sequencing, spatial visualization, and algorithmic thinking.
