EPISD is pleased to introduce the 2023 - 2024 Spirit Ambassadors.
Miner Extra-Curricular Highlights
Seco Mines Miners Tomas Munoz and Grace Ramon participated in the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) tournament in San Antonio.
Tomas placed 2nd in his 6-7 year old division.
He also competed with older, 8-9 year olds, and placed 3rd in that higher division.
4th grader Grace Ramon, also competed on Saturday and placed 1st in her division.
Congratulations to SME students who competed in extra-curricular tournament.
AFJROTC MARCHES ON
During WWII, a contingent of U.S. and Philippine soldiers fought and lost the Battle of Bataan. As a result, 75,000 Filipino and American soldiers were forced to walk 65 miles to prison camps.
Along the way, they were subjected to brutal treatment by Japanese guards.
An estimated 17,000 soldiers perished because of the Bataan Death March.
AFJROTC STOCKS PANTRIES
The cadets currently hold the record for the most bags packed in a day 1,440!
Volunteering makes positive impacts on the community.
Unpaid volunteers are often the glue that holds a community together and help make it a better place.

EAGLE LETTER OF INTENT
One of the most exciting moments for a student-athlete is receiving a scholarship offer.
Congratulations to EPHS Senior, Roberto Gutierrez on signing his National Letter of Intent to continue his football career at Texas College in Tyler, Texas.
Head Football Coach, Tom Gonzalez, recalled Roberto's ability to follow through on the football field with determination and succeed.

Sponsors, Ms. Eunice Cuellar and Mr. Cody Santos congratulated and welcomed the newly inducted.
Mr. John Cox, Deputy Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction, highlighted the value of the pillars that all National Society Members are held to. EPHS Principal, Mr. Luis Huerta, thanked all those in attendance and spoke to the value of family and how that support makes all the difference in our young adults' lives.

Stallions Got Range
On Thursday, April 20th, the students in Ms. Villarreal’s 6th grade class at Cerna worked in groups to create dot plots.
Students analyzed the data to find the mean, median, range, and interquartile range! Way to go Stallions!
WHS SENIOR NAMED IMPACT SCHOLAR
CC Winn Indoor Percussion Make Noise at STATE
CC Winn’s show entitled “Puppetmaster” earned high scores by winning: Outstanding Music Effect, Outstanding Visual, Outstanding Visual Effect, and overall 1st place.
Being crowned as champions was a team effort coached by Mr. Roberto Rodriguez (CC Winn) and Mr. Alex Sanchez (retired band director from San Antonio).
The percussion students at CC Winn achieved this feat even with the many obstacles they faced in their months of preparation.
Their resiliency was in full display on Saturday, April 15th as they performed their show to perfection.
The many hours of practice and dedication resulted in being crowed champion!
