Congratulations to Santiago Villarreal for being selected to perform in a Texas All-State Music Ensemble!
Santiago, a member of the Eagle Pass High School Mighty Eagle Band will perform with the Texas All-State Band in San Antonio, Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Henry B. González Convention Center as part of the 2025 Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention.
Santiago was chosen for this prestigious honor through a competitive process held this year across the state at District, Region, and Area levels.
Santiago plays Bass Clarinet at school under the direction of David M. Solis.
This is Santiago’s first time to perform as a member of a TMEA All-State organization.
Santiago Villarreal is the son of Cinthia Raquel Diaz and Jesus Villarreal.
This really puts the accomplishment into perspective—70,000 students competing for a spot in just 18 ensembles!
It shows just how much talent is out there, and it makes Santiago’s selection even more impressive.
Reaching the state level after going through multiple rounds of auditions is a huge challenge, but also a testament to how hard he’s worked and how dedicated he is to his craft. A
ll-State performances will be held as part of the TMEA Clinic/Convention, February 12–15, 2025.
Over 30,000 people from Texas and around the world are expected to attend the convention that features over 300 workshops, 100 performances, and 600 exhibiting companies and higher education institutions.
This is the nation’s largest music educators convention.
