Rosita Valley Introduces New Campus Administration

RVE Collects for Harvey

Thursday, August 31st, Rosita Valley staff came out in full force to help out those devasted by Hurricane Harvey. The Roadrunners gathered up as much as you could imagine to show their support!

Roadrunners Welcome Rodriguez


Rosita Valley Elementary is pleased to introduce their newest Roadrunner, Ms. Aide Rodriguez, to their family.
Ms. Rodriguez will be teaching 4th grade and her fellow Roadrunners wish her a very successful school year!

Darr Comes Out for Hurricane Harvey


Thursday, August 31st, Ray Darr Staff and the Girl Scout from Troop 250 had a Relief Drive to assist the devastated areas hit by Hurricane Harvey. 
They Mavs and Girl Scouts came together to support our state in this time of need!

Henry B. Gonzalez Lends a Helping Hand

A very big thank you to all the Henry B. Gonzalez Bobcats who were so generous with their donations for the Hurricane Harvey drive. 
Everything is truly appreciated!


LDC Classes Dismissed

Classes at LDC will be cancelled for this afternoon at 1:30 pm, Thursday August 31st, due to issues with the main water line.

Classes will resume regularly scheduled tomorrow, Friday September
1st.

Miners Wave College Colors Proudly

The Mighty Miners of Seco Mines Elementary proudly displayed their College Colors on Tuesday, August 29th, for College Colors Day!
The Miners had pennants and t-shirts to celebrate the event. This day was a great addition to their learning fiesta as students were able to begin to explore options and start taking those first steps towards college.



Glass Elementary Power Outage

Due to a power outage at Nellie Mae Glass Elementary, classes will be dismissed today, Thursday August 31st, at 10:00 am. 

Classes will resume as regularly scheduled tomorrow, Friday September 1st

Winn Welcomes Aime Ramirez

C. C. Winn High School's Math Department welcomes brand new teacher and former C. C. Winn Maverick, Aime Ramirez as the newest member of their amazing department. 
Ms. Ramirez graduated from Texas A&M International University with a bachelor's degree and a certification to teach Math, 7-12. Ms. Ramirez plans on furthering her education by working on her ESL endorsement and plans on obtaining a Masters in Counseling. 
She will be staying in Eagle Pass and as she acquires more experience and she hopes to be more involved in extra curricular activities. When asked for some words, she excitedly responded that she is happy to be a Maverick because giving something of herself back to the amazing campus that saw her grow was always a dream of hers. 
Welcome home, Ms. Aime Ramirez! Have an amazing first year! 

All Aboard with LCD Lil' Mavs

The LDC Lil' Mavs are ALWAYS feeling safe and secure on their bus ride to school. 
Mr. Lomeli  helps the students get off the bus while the Lil' Mav bus drivers and bus aides do an awesome job of helping them have positive experience riding the school bus.

Mancha Becomes Neighbor of Choice

On Friday, August 25,  Marshalls Department Store staff stopped by Perfecto Mancha Elementary to raffle off some Back to School Teacher Kits
The kits were stocked with many classroom essentials and teachers were beyond excited to receive them! 
On behalf of all the staff at Perfecto Mancha Elementary, the Mustangs would like to thank Marshalls for selecting their campus as their "Neighbor of Choice".

Mission WINN: Conquering the Unknown

Friday, August 25th, CCWINN Student Council hosted an amazing Welcome Back Breakfast for the teachers and staff to round out their first work week back. 
They prepared wall-to-wall backdrops, decorations, centerpieces, costumes and an elaborate script filled with motivational videos and team building activities. They even fundraised during the summer to help fund the StuCo breakfast with breakfast tacos, fruit and pan de dulce. Approximately 25 StuCo members worked for over two weeks to transform the gym into an outer space adventure suitable for blasting off into a new school year.  
JROTC members helped set up and clean up and Pepe Aranda with Full House Entertainment provided the amazing lighting and smoke effects for lift off! 
It was a great way to show that the staff is out of this world! The Maverick's theme this year:  
MISSION WINN... CONQUERING THE UNKNOWN.




Winn High Represents at Convocation

On Thursday August 24, 2017 Student Council Officers attended the annual Back to School Convocation held at the Student Activity Center Auditorium. StuCo President Pablo Garcia Jr. had the honor to say the Texas pledge, alongside Marcus Appleton, EPHS Student Council  President who said the Pledge of Allegiance. 
Other officers made props and participated in the finale performance and were blown away by fellow Maverick student, Amanda Lee Martin, and her beautiful singing abilities.  
The stunning Silverline dance team dazzled the EPISD staff with their impeccable dance skills and talented partners. 
Altogether, a truly show-stopping performance! 
All student participants enjoyed being able to play a part of this annual production and being able to welcome back the staff to a new year!  


Learning Fiesta Continues at Seco Mines

Seco Mines Elementary School's Counselor, Mr. Rocha, welcomed new students to school and let them know that everyday at Seco Mines is A Learning Fiesta!

Hurricane Relief Items

As a district we are asking for everyone to come together to support those that were devastated by Hurricane Harvey.

We are asking for the following items to be donated:
Blankets 
Towels
Toiletries
Baby Items
Clothes

If you're interested in donating the above items, please make arrangements to have them delivered to the District Service Center - School Improvement Office by 2:00 pm Thursday, August 31st.

EPHS has College Spirit

On August 29th, Science teachers at Eagle Pass High School proudly displayed their College T-shirts for College Colors Day. 
It was important for the students to see their teachers proudly representing their colleges as distinguished alumni!
This helps the students keep college on their mind as they look towards their next step.

LDC Registers Lil' Mavs

Wednesday, August 30th, Mrs. Even, Principal, Mrs. Garcia, I.O. and Mrs. M. Gonzales, Clerk at LDC were ready to help the Lil' Mav parents with registration! 
Even though it is the third day of school, parents are excited to continue with registration and encouraging their children to stay in school!

EPHS & Winn StuCo Spread School Pride

EPHS and Winn Stuco  members and their sponsors spent the better part of the evening on Tuesday, August 29th, painting the windows at our local AT&T store. 

Each school was invited to paint four sections of the storefront with spirit decorations in support of their respective teams; the Eagles and the Mavericks. 

The event allowed the students from both campuses to work together and get to know each other. 

A section of the window was decorated with both mascots together. EPHS and Winn StuCo want to spread the notion that we really are Two Schools-One District. 

Mayor Ramsey English Cantu was present to witness the developing camaraderie between both schools, and took the time to make a short speech urging both schools to continue working together.

Rosita Valley Gives in Time of Need

Rosita Valley Principal,Mrs. Guedea, along with some teachers and student visited the Hurricane Harvey evacuees at the Multipurpose center on Saturday, August 26th. 
The Roadrunners delivered some books and games for the kids to enjoy!
In this time of tragedy, we should be thankful and help those around us.

College Day at Kirchner

The Cowboys came out in full force with shirts representing colleges like UT, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M to just name a few!

Winn Welcomes Mychal Sanchez

The C.C. Winn English Department welcomes Mr. Mychal Sanchez as he begins his student teaching journey.
Mr. Sanchez is a former C.C. Winn graduate and the first recipient of the Winn English Department Scholarship. He attended Southwest Texas Junior College and played basketball for the Cowboys before returning to his hometown of Eagle Pass. 
Mr. Sanchez majored in English, made the Dean’s list, and was inducted to Alpha Chi, an organization composed of only the top 10% GPAs across majors. 
He is the son of Mr. Jose T. Sanchez, varsity basketball coach at Winn, and Donna Sanchez, teacher-aide at EPJH.
He will be observing and teaching English III and IV with Mrs. Alva-Rodriguez as his collaborating teacher.
The English Department is thrilled to welcome him to C.C. Winn and the Maverick Nation!


Kennedy Hall Throws Kindness Like Confetti


1st day of classes at Kennedy Hall rang it with joy on August 28th. 
The staff, students, and parents alike all had smiles on their faces and were ready for a positive and healthy school year!

Sam Houston Ventures Out into Cougar Country


Sam Houston Elementary teachers made a special visit to their students on August 22nd! The Cougar teachers have turned this into somewhat of a tradition; they have made visits to their students going on 3 years!
They delivered school supplies to some of their students. Each grade level team made it out into their community to give their kids a warm welcome!
This is a true indication of the strength and dedication that Cougar teachers have! They are ready to take their students on a learning journey full of excitement and packed with knowledge!
