Congratulations to Ms. Patricia Pete Rodrigues: January Teacher of the Month

Eagle Pass Independent School District has partnered with local businesses throughout our city to highlight the Teacher of the Month program, which honors educators who have made a difference in our community.  The program recognizes outstanding kindergarten, elementary, junior high, and high school teachers in Eagle Pass, Texas.
January's Teacher of the Month is none other than Eagle Pass Junior High's Patricia Pete Rodrigues. For the duration of Ms. Rodrigues' career, she has always made it a priority to provide for her campus and students' needs. She puts forth extraordinary effort and countless support.
Ms. Rodrigues' serves selflessly and is an excellent role model to her fellow teachers and staff. She is charismatic and kind to all which helps her work with her fellow English Language Arts teachers as their Department Head. She has excellent rapport with campus administration and parents. The students feel comfortable around her and she keeps them thoroughly engaged by utilizing various learning activities that are TEKS oriented and FUN!

Ms. Rodrigues' believes in building the confidence and self esteem in students and this is 100% seen in her roles as WHS Track Coach and Co-Founder of EPJ Kindness Club. For Ms. Rodrigues, her goal is to make everyday AWESOME!
For these reasons and more, Ms. Rodrigues is Teacher of the Month.
A segment will appear on iVision throughout the month of December detailing many more accomplishments of Ms. Rodrigues.  This month she will also appear on community media, news publications and the EPISD website throughout January 2018.  A teacher will be selected each month through May 2018 for a total of eight (8) honorees.  The “Teacher of the Month” will be chosen based on educational achievements in the classroom, community contributions and innovative programs and techniques used by the teacher. The “Teacher of the Month” will receive a certificate of recognition and will be featured on iVision, local media news, news publications and radio broadcasting.  Additionally, each “Teacher of the Month” will receive donations from local businesses.
