WHS Silverline Homecoming Representatives

Silverline would like to wish their 2018 - 2019 Homecoming Reps, Tanya Garcia and Elian Montemayor, good luck this Homecoming season.
Tanya has been Silverline's Captain for the past 2 years years and is an EPISD Spirit Ambassador. 
Elian is part of the mighty Maverick football team and is Senior Class President.
Silverline encourages everyone to make Tanya and Elian their 1st choice for WHS Homecoming King and Queen Thursday, November 1st!
They also invite the community to cheer on their reps and witness the great WHS Homecoming Parade at 6:30pm the same day.

Miners Receive Great Treat

Wednesday, October 31st, Seco Miners Elementary PE department had a big surprise waiting for them!
Coach Reyes and Coach Roman and the rest of the MIners would like to give a big thank you to EPISD for the new equipment that was donated to them. 
They can’t wait try out the new games!

Wednesday, October 31st, Seco Mines was all in the holiday spirit.
The PTO even surprised the students with a small bag for Halloween.
Mrs. Valadez' 4th grade class would like to wish all EPISD a safe and fun Halloween.

Trick or Treat Mavs

Halloween spirit was found all over CC Winn on October 31st.
The Library was visited by several students today as they made their way around the campus to trick or treat. 
Every year, various members of the faculty participate in a trick or treating event where students visit different locations around campus to trick or treat. 
Several students dressed for the occasion and were treated with all kinds of goodies. 
The library would like to thank all those who participated in making this year's trick or treating event so memorable. 
Mrs. Mercer also shared some sweet treats with her English IV classes. 
The students were rewarded for all the hard work they’ve put forth this year. 

The Seniors would like to remind all Trick-or-Treaters to stay safe!

Eagle Basketball and Tennis Lend Helping Hand

Eagle Pass High School Social Studies Department would like to thank EPHS' Girls Basketball Team, EPHS Tennis, and the following individuals: Carla Rodriguez, Heriberto Morales III,  Karyme Gomez and Alisa Martinez for volunteering through out the entire Fall Festival on Tuesday, October 30th.
Their selflessness aided the Social Studies Department in having a successful Food and Game Booth.  
The department would also like to thank the students from Ms. M. Vasquez, Miss. L. Gonzalez and Mr. P. Cantu for donating the cakes used in the cake walk.

MJH Spanish Club Homecoming Reps

Memorial Junior High Spanish Club Representatives Jose Campos and Andrea Morales would like to ask their fellow MJH Mavs to vote for them as the 2018 MJH Homecoming King and Queen.

WHS Halloween Parade

CC Winn Library is pleased to announce the winners of the library's 3rd annual Halloween Costume Contest. 
1st place among students went to Giovanni Torres for his Twisted Clown costume, 2nd place went to Janel Jimenez for her Castiel costume, and 3rd place went to Joey Guerrero for his Edna Mode costume. 
With her rendition of Carrie, the top faculty costume winner was Mrs. Lori Camarillo. 
Congratulations to this year's winners!

WHS English IV Celebrates National Book Month


October is National Book Month and students in Mrs. Mercer’s English IV classes at Winn celebrated with style. 
Students were encouraged to check out a library book and make extra time out of their busy senior year to read. 
The reading activity culminated on Tuesday, October 30th in a special Book Talk where students were broken into groups to discuss their reading. 


As they presented to their classmates, students engaged in avid discussions about their books of choice. 
Students talked about the main characters, conflicts, and about what they liked and disliked about the books they read. 
The purpose of this activity was to engage students in the practice of reading and talking about what they read. 


At the end of the day, when the students agreed to read their classmates books, the purpose was served. 
Great job, Seniors! Continue building your success through reading.

Lil' Mavs Host Annual Halloween Parade

LDC'S adorable Lil' Mavs came to school ready and rearing to go on October 31st.
The Lil' Mavs arrived in full costume for LDC'S Annual Halloween Parade.
It was a great morning and the kids and staff loved rocking their Trick or Treat attire!

Bulldogs Revolve Around the Sun

For the past couple of weeks, the 5th graders at Benavides have been learning about the characteristics of the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth. 
Tuesday, October 30th, the students completed an activity that showed the relative size of these three. 
The model also demonstrates what rotation is and how it differentiates from revolutions. 
It was a great hands on experience for the Bulldogs!

Cowboys Tape Up Halloween

Kirchner Elementary came up with a clever and innovative way to raise money for Student Council!
October 31st, the Cowboys sold pieces of tape to be able to tape 5th grade teacher, Mr. Garcia to the wall.

Halloween Parade in Tiger Country

Tuesday, October 31st, Graves Elementary held their annual Halloween Costume Parade.
There was everything from Starbucks to Willy Wonka and boy, was the creativity there!

October 31st, Kirchner Elementary held their Annual Halloween Parade and had way more treats than tricks in store for them!
The students and staff all dressed for the occasion and the creativity was through the roof!

Bulldogs Pink Out Campus


October is the month for Cancer Awareness. 
Students and staff at Benavides Heights pinked out for Cancer Awareness on Tuesday, October 30th. 
The 5th grade students worked on a Breast Cancer Awareness banner to show that this matter is of great importance to our school.

Lobo StuCo Lends Helping Hand

Pete Gallego would like to thank their Student Council for all their hard work and dedication to the upcoming Fall Festival.

Wednesday, October 31st, Memorial Mavericks love Halloween! 
Students and staff dressed in their best, creative and scary costumes to celebrate the day.
Students even visited the library for a quick Halloween photo shoot.

Halloween Haunts at Darr

Wednesday, October 31st, staff and students at Darr Elementary were ready for all the treats Halloween has to offer.
The morning kicked off with the staff receiving a special Halloween treat from Principal Ms. Chacon!
The Mavs were treated to a spread of breakfast tacos and sweets.

RVLA Picks Perfect Pumpkin

October 22nd - 26th, RVLA parents and students participated in decorating a paper pumpkin. 
This was a parent/child activity in which they got to bond over creating a unique piece of art. 
Winners were announced on Halloween! 
Prizes were donated by Peter Piper Pizza & Wal Mart.

RVLA Recognizes Perfect Attendance

Monday, October 29th, Mr. Rolando Euresti Jr. and Mrs. Norma Mejia at RVLA were recognized for their perfect attendance for the 1st nine weeks. 
Principal Mrs. Pang - Villa  recognized them for their commitment to the students at RVLA and treated them to a delicious lunch!

Mancha Halloween Parade

Perfecto Mancha Elementary would like to congratulate their Mustangs for their great showing at the Costume Parade on Wednesday, October 31st.
The costumes were spooktacular this year and the Mustangs deserve a great round of applause for the great creativity that was shown.
They also would like to give their incredible staff a round of applause for joining in on all the fun!

Darr Halloween Parade

October 31st, students and staff at Ray Darr were attacked by witches, goblins, and creatures!
On Halloween, the Mavericks enjoyed participating in the school's annual Halloween Costume Parade. 
Darr would also like to thank The Texas Highway Patrol Officers, IBC Bank, Miss Eagle Pass Texas Teen, and Chiquis Garza for being a part of this great Mav tradition.

EPHS Fall Festival Fun

Tuesday, October 30th, Eagle Pass High School Senior Class hosted their Fall Festival and it was a big hit! 
DJ Chavarria lit up the area and got everyone moving!
The evening was also filled with performances by elementary dance and cheer teams.
The Eagles had delicious food and awesome entertainment! 
Thank you to all staff, parents and students who helped make this Fall Festival a success!

RVLA Wishes IO Happy Birthday

Monday, October 29th, RVLA Instructional Officer, Mrs. Benavides, was pleasantly surprised by her staff members birthday wishes!
The Little Miners showered her with a delicious birthday breakfast, beautiful gifts and of course a yummy cake!

Stallions Create Pumpkin Art

Tuesday, October 30th, Ms. Roque's 4th grade class presented their Pumpkins in Disguise projects.
Just in time for Halloween, the Stallions painted and crafted pumpkins inspired by novels.

Tigers Paint Pumpkins

Wednesday, October 31st, Graves Elementary 5th grade teachers allowed students to participate in an art activity!
The students used acrylic paints to decorate their very own pumpkins.

Pete Gallego Fall Festival

The Lobos are inviting everyone to join them at their Pete Gallego Fall Festival on Thursday, November 1st .
There will be great music and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
They will have games and prizes for the kids, face painting, balloon animals and loteria for the adults.
There can't be music and games without food so there will also be food stands with brisket sandwiches, tacos de fajita, hamburgers, personal pizza's, corn dogs, menudo, aguas naturales and so much more.
They hope to see everyone there!
Pre-sale tickets Wednesday, October 31st,  and Thursday morning at 5×1.00.

Darr Celebrates National Cat Day

Monday, October 29th, Darr celebrated National Cat Day!
National Cat Day was founded as a way to bring awareness to the number of homeless cats.
Darr Librarian, Ms. Casares prepared a great activity for the students to herald in the holiday.
The students created cat hats and proudly wore them all day.

Wednesday, October 31st, some of Eagle Pass High School's kooky Science Department got decked out for the holiday! 
The group delightfully dressed as Disney heroines and princesses.

MJH Pauses for Suspense

Halloween is just another opportunity for Memorial Junior High to demonstrate their knowledge and skills on even more suspense stories. 
They worked collaboratively on giant one-pagers to close off the unit on this last day of October.

Wednesday, October 31st, Kennedy Hall celebrated their annual Halloween Costume parade and the costumes were out of this world!
A special thanks to all the parents who made the parade possible with their creativity!

Mr. Torres wanted to recognize the hard working students in his class who received excellent marks during the 1st 9 Weeks.
