Friday, November 30th, members of C.C. Winn’s NHS dropped of blankets and towels in Sponsor, Ms. Cruz’ classroom.
Ms. Cruz' Pre-AP classes wondered why the items were being dropped off.
Ms. Cruz explained that NHS members were gathering donations for Project Companion.
Project Companion is a non-profit animal advocacy group that works with animals at the local shelter and rescue pets.
ProCo promotes shelter adoption and provides animal friendly activities for pets and their families.
After learning about the group and donations being made by NHS, Ms. Cruz’ Pre-AP students asked if they could also donate to Project Companion.
Friday, December 7th, students brought in dry dog and cat food and added to the large blanket and towel donation being made by C.C. Winn’s NHS.
A total of 126 blankets and towels were donated along with 37 bags of food.
Ms. Cruz cannot express how proud it makes her feel to see her students act in such a selfless way to improve their community.
