After a couple of stressful weeks of gathering data, writing outlines, citing sources, and drafting their essays, students in Mrs. Mercer's English classes at CC Winn submitted their final drafts of their research paper via Google Classrooms on December 21st.
The students started the task feeling nervous and intimidated by the intensity of the assignment but were left with a great sense of accomplishment after completing the task.
Their research paper was of persuasive nature as students were tasked with identifying a modern day hero. Although the task was seemingly easy, students had to gather evidentiary proof that concluded that indeed, their person of choice was heroic.
Students gathered data from reliable sources to write a thesis that proved their figure's heroism.
Notes and guidelines were uploaded to Google Classroom. This allowed students to always have access to the information they needed. In addition, students used this platform to submit their research questions, thesis statement, research outline, source information, and their final draft.
By implementing Google Classroom in the research paper process, it allowed Mrs. Mercer to monitor student progress. Meeting deadlines was definitely stressful for the students but it was all worth it in the end A lot of work went into this project but its outcome was definitely a success.
Congratulations, seniors!
