Wednesday, January 9th, C.C. Winn High School hosted their annual student panel.
For the past 10 years, College Advisor, Maria Uriegas, has invited Winn alumni to come visit and provide information about their college experience to the campus' current seniors.
Networking is the key to continuing success in college and having the alumni come to share their experiences is the first step in introducing current seniors to this concept.
The former Mavericks have been able to pass on their information to the current seniors and it is a great chance for themselves to learn from other members of the panel of different opportunities and programs they have encountered at their universities.
It is always important for any student to know, former or current, that opportunities come in many different forms.
Whether it's a club or organization, an internship, or study abroad, if opportunity is there you reach for it!
This year, WHS invited seniors from the class of 2016-2018 .
Students asked questions ranging from housing, roommates, meal plans, classes, rigor, and campus culture. Early College Academy students were invited to participate.
Alumni also networked during the luncheon and learned of new opportunities at the college level.
Special thanks to Class of 2016 alumni, Isaac Turrubiate and Adrian Gonzalez,for visiting the campus several times this year to promote programs from the University of Texas at Austin.
