Friday, May 17th, CC Winn Thundering Maverick Band hosted their annual Band Banquet.
Head Band Director, Mr. Ruben Rodriguez expressed how very proud of the music and guard staff at C.C. Winn and Memorial Jr. High.
The night was used to celebrate the groups accomplishments!
The Winter Guard competed at TECA on April 13th and came out as State Champions for the second consecutive year.
100% of the concert bands at C.C. Winn and Memorial Jr. High received sweepstakes at the UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest on April 16-17 of this year.
The Winn Marching band has received 12 consecutive sweepstakes at the UIL Marching contest making it a 100% success rate at UIL marching contest.
Winn's Music program has received Sweepstakes every year since the school opened up as a four year high school!
Mr. Rodriguez would like to send a big thank you and congratulations to the hardest working band directors and color guard instructor.
C.C. Winn and Memorial Jr. High staff: Carlos Vela, Alejo Garza, Robert Rodriguez, Raul Perez, Jorge Vargas, and John Munoz has done a fantastic job of preparing their students for continued success in the field of music. As they start preparing for next year’s marching season, Mr. Rodriguez wanted to take the time to appreciate the value of each member of his team and band family.
Mr. Rodriguez stated, "It’s not easy to find a team like ours, which is why our students benefit tremendously from our experience and expertise. Congratulations to each and every one of you and I look forward to our continued success."
