WHS Maverick Teacher Receives Grant

In this fast paced world, the implementation of technology plays a critical role in students' academic performance. The use of technology is becoming more common in classrooms across the nation and of course, Winn High is not the exception.
Every year, the Eagle Pass Independent School District Education Foundation gives teachers across the district the opportunity to bring innovation into their classrooms to ensure student success.
This year, this opportunity was given to C. C. Winn High School's English teacher, Mrs. Josie Mercer.
On October 14th, the Education Foundation Committee presented Mrs. Mercer with a $1000 check to fulfill her "Chrome is Where the Smart Is" grant.
The "Chrome is Where the Smart Is" grant was put into motion to purchase Chrome Books that will enable students to expand their learning experiences by allowing them to use the various platforms supported by the district to better prepare the students for college. The Chrome Books will be used by seniors to complete the investigative process of research paper, along with the production of professional presentations of the end product.
Winn administration is proud of the initiative taken to bring more opportunities to the students of Winn High.
Congratulations, Mavericks!
