WHS Conducts Mock Trials

On October 23rd and 24th, Miss De La Cruz's Principles of Law, Public Safety, Security, and Corrections class at WHS conducted a mock trial of the famous OJ Simpson v The People of California case.
Both the prosecution team and defense team delivered opening statements, questions for the witnesses, cross-examination questions, and closing statements.
Rather than implementing the traditional teaching methods to review the terminology and procedures of a trial, Miss De La Cruz determined the best way to teach it was to give her students an opportunity to experience it first hand.

And she was right! Through this method, students enjoyed learning about courtroom roles and responsibilities.
Great job, Miss De La Cruz!

Go Mavericks!
