WHS's Mrs. Duran's Class Use Compound Light Microscopes

On Thursday, October 17th, students in Mrs.Duran class at WHS were using compound light microscopes to view certain types of insects hair fibers.
Students were taught how to properly use the microscope, and how to use certain lens to find the hair fibers that the insect contained. Students were able to see hair fibers from the insects they collected outside: grasshoppers, ants, spiders, beetles, dragonflies.
Once the students located the hair fibers from each insect;they had to draw the different hair fibers from each insect.
Students would then classify the differences of the hair patterns and sizes of each insect.
Keep up the good job Mavericks!
